I have a book review that lives in the FFFF Hall of Records, it's on Letters From the Earth, written by Samuel Clemens.
Hmm... There seems to be a lot of push to put good ol' Sam on the list of authours

I have not started, but ought to, on Arthur C Clarke and Ursula Le Guin, two of the most interesting and versatile minds of our time.
Then there's Paul Theroux who, apart from being a pompous misanthropic wanker, has produced a fair amount of readable stuff too.
Joseph Conrad?
Poul Anderson?
Robert Heinlein?
That chap that wrote The HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy. What was his name?

Just discovered your site. I wish I had discovered it earlier.
Approved Guide Entry on Victor Hugo: http://www.h2g2.com/A223048
I have recently submitted an entry relating to a poet with the first name of Hartley called The Hartley Effect http://www.h2g2.com/A318269 The entry doesn't mention his rather famous last name, but drops several clues. Whether they will allow it to remain that way, I'm not sure.
I am working on an entry about Montaigne, the French essayist. I'll let you know when I am finished. I also plan on writing entries for Charles Baudelaire, Edgar Allan Poe, Walt Whitman, and perhaps some others if noone beats me to them.
Key: Complain about this post
