Smij - Formerly Jimster Started conversation Dec 18, 2003
Just having a look through the (newly-created) sub-category of 'Australasian TV Programming' and noticed that we don't seem to have entries on some shows that I would have expected to see:
Prisoner (known in the UK as Prisoner Cell Block H)
Neighbours
Home and Away
I could pitch in with the first one, and maybe the second, but is there anyone out there who fancies tackling these topics?

Master B, stop being cheeky.

That's what you get for dissing the sublime Prisoner Cell Block H, DD
(Having said that, we in-house peeps love Bucks Fuzz. )

You might think that, but Bucks Fizz were a British winner in Europe how many of those have we had. And Hinge and Brackett were an international stage sensation for a lot longer than any Australian TV show
What a daggy underhanded statement. He must be a right cheeky wombat.
You might think that I couldn't possible comment.

So being a Eurovision winner entitles you to adulation on hootoo now, does it? And Jimster, you just lust after Cheryl Baker's legs.

I think we three should make 'Neighbours' a collaborative Entry after reliving the aussie-sitcom level of pointless argument on this thread.

Well, I'm gonna do a Neighbours entry as soon as I get around to it - I'll let you know where it is and then you can comment and we can make it collaborative if you like

A quick synopsis there, but there should be more for such a staple of British television viewing. A quick history - including the Ramseys and the Robinsons (though this could get real complicated, real quickly). A section on the six different story lines that repeat every couple of years (or is it four?). A look at Neighbours as a launching platform for a number of actors (Jim Robinson in Star Wars, Star Trek, 24 - Mike in LA confidential, Memento). And, of course, a highlight section - when Neighbours just goes bizarre - Bouncers Dream, Dr Clive and the Christmas Panto, Jim and Lou on Magic Mushrooms.
When trying to find out exactly who Jim Robinson was and his recent filmography I cam across this site - http://perfectblend.net/ - which has more than you could ever, ever want to know about this soapopera.
DISCLAIMER - when I was a student I did watch it, my SO still watches it, but I have more or less left it alone. Honest Guv' Until later...
