Announce then adopt
Bluebottle Posted May 7, 2000
As far as I can see, no-one has adopted Mykl since I brought his existence, and lack of attendance, to notice, so feel free to ask to adopt.
I'm adopting Oddball atm.

Ok, I can't be bothered reading the whole thing, but from what I remember, you adopt a researcher who hasn't been on the site for a while and try to find out where they went and get them to come back.
I'm not sure how this would work now, as "we're" a bit more paranoid about letting people know stuff about ourselves.
I think you'd have to ask Jim yourself about adopting him, he's not really that lost though

It wasn't so much getting them to come back, rather if you noticed that they had, encouraging them to stay. I think. (unless you already personally knew the person you adopted)
But you can't adopt someone who isn't lost, and Jim's definitely not lost.

You could try posting to his personal space. As he's not quite lost yet, he would probably answer.

As several researchers have been disenherited for haveing disemboguing
via keyboards without the slightest verismilitude to the content of post.perhaps they could be put forward for fostering, was tempted to substetute o-for-e,as adophtion is not a option many would want

I'd like to adopt U207791 please. Not seen since late August 2003. Not just on h2g2, but in general.
