Well... if I can ex post facto adopt myself, possibly...
Weird.

Isn't just hoping that they'll come back a little optimistic?
Shouldn't we be going round to their houses and kidnapping them?
Or something?

LOL, I think only being on H2G2 can chain you to a keyboard. It is not the policy of the Battersea Researchers Home to go around forcibly abducting people

If one wanted to be proactive, one could request to the Powers That Be that when one's account has been inactive for 30 weeks, one recieves some sort of email...

*Slaps forehead*
Of course! The one thing you have to give to register is an e-mail address. Brilliant Ioreth Now to get TPTWVH to notice.

bludragon, aka the Dragon Queen of Damogran Posted Apr 9, 2000
Hullo, and may I please adopt Feisor
http://www.h2g2.com/U38014
He/she/it was a dear friend, [as well as an ageless, genderless, lifeforce] and we had many good times together at Garibaldi's parties and other places. Then *sob* one day *choke* his/her/its computer started acting up. We heard sporadically from him/her/it after that...and then...nothing. *sniffle* Last seen waiting for Godot about 28 weeks ago.
Thank you.
Very truly yours,
the bludragon

Do you feel ready to handle such a responsibility?

Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Posted Apr 9, 2000
Hello all, I'd like to adopt a researcher known only as Bob, once found at http://www.h2g2.com/U40132 and last seen some 43 weeks ago having just asked a girl out. I'm a bit worried that she might have been some kind of bunny boiler and the whole experience has been too much for him...

I'd like to add Big Bang Burger Bar (39130)
Who was quite active from 43-40 weeks. Noticed him poking around the feedback forum, where Jim Lynn had just exaplined to him that they would soon have an option of skinning your H2G2.
Notice that that was 42 weeks ago.

Thanks for the hard work Ioreth (yours leading to mine ) hopefully everything is up to date. I have not included 'Big Bang Burger Bar' because as I followed the trail this researcher manifested himself as Zach Garland who describes himself as The Prodigal Reluctant SubEditor, check him out.
To every-one else who has found or adopted researchers a big thanks
