I'm at home at the moment, thinking if I should go to school in an hour for my french lessons, they're necessary, evidently. (hey, this translating is easy ) (but it doesn't sound right) (hope you don't mind)

yesterday a french writer visited my school, Marie Desplechin. she was very friendly and open to answer questions about herself and her work. that was something different than normal, evidently we can't invite Flaubert to ask him some questions about his work.

I've never heard of this author, but I have to admit that I'm not up-to-date with contemporary French authors.
Does she write in a specific genre ?

she writes novels, about family, relationships, and normal things I believe, I've only read one story Trop sensibles. and she writes books for children, also. I don't think she's very famous but one of her novels at least was a bestseller.

Lady Marmalade as in the song by Christina and Lil Kim and ... other people? The one about the Mulin Rouge that was released when I was like 8 or something and then sorta again when it appeared in the movie Moulin Rouge?
(No, I don't know how to say that in French...)
