Dates and Times for the Tea Party
U168592 Started conversation Aug 19, 2007
Hola!
Now then, if we're going to have this party we need a good date and time.
Bear in mind it must;
1. Be a weekday between the hours of 10.00am and 17.00pm BST (British Standard Time) to coincide with the Italic(s) being in the Office.
2. Be a time suitable for the majority of Researchers the world over.
3. Get most of the petitioned attendees online at the same time.
So, suggestions please!

...just some things to think about:
RL aside, except for that 10.00am and 17.00pm BST for the italics, isn't it just about the DAY...?
i mean, the italics can pop in, off and on, all through that 7 hour stretch for live repartee (heh heh get it? re par tea) (oh oh or reparty!)
anyway... we just need the day, then start some hours before for set up and greeting of arrivals... do the day... then hours after for continuence and cleaning up... and as you said... some will be spending the night at the mansion with breakfast in the morning... perhaps some croquet before lunch... and then who knows...
...it could actually turn into a Jeeves and Wooster weekend at the country estate...

Tuesday or Wednesday, agreed. Get the Monday rush done with, and boredom sets in...

yes but you can't plan that... it just has to happen... i think most we can safely say is the 7 hour window on a given weekday... then some before it and as much as it carries on after...

It could go on for a week. No one would see it in the grounds of Alalawotsit House.. They go on for miles

I'm afraid my hat may have to remain in storage
10am to 5pm is going to make attendance difficult for those of us down under Australian Eastern Standard Time is 9 hours ahead of UK. And NZ a further 2 hours ahead. (Work it out for yourselves )
Sorry guys, but if it's a week day, I'm afraid there'll be antipodean no-shows.

How dumb?
I'll be there for the opening speeches
Got my hours muddled (thought 12 was 10 - don't ask )

Well, with those times, I'll just be able to make the end of the 'official' party--I (and everyone else in the US's Pacific time zone) am 8 hours behind the UK. And if it's any later than September 4th, I'll be working during the week again, so will have to just help with setup and cleanup

A tuesday after a bank holiday is a glorified Monday - I'd be afraid the Italics will be too busy to attend.

Psst--that'd be the 29th.

in that case, once we've got the dates and times sorted, I'll send the Italics invites, with ruservup and gold nibbling on the edges
