*Considering that it's a virtual reality simulation, it looks incredibly realistic. The extra-sensitive sensors in the CLI headgear must be capable of tapping into the brain more directly.
This starting point appears very much like a spider web that, despite the incredible thinness of each strand, remains quite stable and is surprisingly easy to stand on. Fortunately, this means that there are no worries about falling into the empty void of darkness beneath the web. Various strands currently stretch off to various areas marked by neon signs that read "Security", "Imaging", "VR Games", and "Temp Files"*

Ack!
*quickly recovers from vertigo*
Wow! No tunnels!

Whoah! This is is the spot where I nearly always lose my lunch!

Lentilla (Keeper of Non-Sequiturs) Posted Feb 11, 2005
Boing! Boing! [Lentilla bounces up and down on the spiderweb, severely jarring GDZ and Lil. They look at Lentilla with annoyance, and she desists.]
Well, where to? Shall we visit the Temp Files? Or VR Games? Security looks a bit intimidating...

*Is slightly disappointed to find she's not taller, blonder, thinner and with (somewhat) bigger breasts.*

*Appears with a 'plib' sound.*
Crivens! Tha's quite an odd feelin'...
Little unclear as to whether we have out inventories here.
*Looks around.*
Hmm... 'sa bit dull.

Ach spiders. I watched ROTK just before coming on this jaunt, dang it all.

Good point.
Do we have our inventories?
Are we the same in appearance as we normally expect our virtual appearance to be?

I imagine that we see others as we imagine them to be but if we were to look in a mirror would see ourselves as we are. I could be completely off base though.

[Yar] Hmm ...

Yes, you have inventories.
And the default appearances of all would be one's natural appearances outside of the simulation. However, that *can* be changed in the....eh, I shouldn't give away spoilers.
*What looks like a large robotic spider emerges from the virtual imaging room, and upon noticing the adventurers quickly slips through the webbing so that it can crawl beneath the web, thus avoiding getting stepped on. It heads towards the door marked "Security" and passes through*

[Yar considers this, and peers towards the Security area]
[Yar] Why not? You think it'll be better-protected than anything else?

I think she doesn't like spiders much.

Well, Yar, you're right. But let's consider where Affi is most likely to be. VR Games?
