Ormy - Hmm... I think not, though I can see a case for awarding a point. Overall nominating a scorer and a nil-nil smacks slightly of having your cake and eating it; because in a sense you've nominated two first scorers - a name and no one as you've said nil-nil.

Curses. You saw the logic behind my cunning plan.
OK, in that case:
Portugal 2-0 Greece
Half-time: draw
First scorer: Maniche
Last scorer: Ronaldo

I don't know, it all seemed so simple when I was wracking my brains for some additional bonus points to fling at this final round. Who would have thought that it would end up so complicated. I mean it's almost as bad as B and his differential scorer points depending upon player position
Suffice to say, this is the first and last time that 'last scorers' will feature in any fantasy football competition that I run.

Well, for running this one. It's been fun, even though I seem to be on course for my lowest-ever finish.

I have faith in you, Ormy.
(plus, if you get enough points for your traditional top three finish, your prediction is similar enough to mine that I can draw level with Egon. )

Well I for one am absolutely delighted with the result
A one-nil victory means that I don't have to go faffing around working out the last scorer points for that (now defunct) sub-section of the competition.
Half-time points seem to work out OK as a good idea, with plenty of points getting awarded. So I expect that I shall wheel it out again for special occasions.
So to the competition. There was a late charge by McKay and Number Six who climbed up the table with their 4 points each. But that late spurt wasn't enough to dislodge Bottletop from his top spot where he hangs on by one point to claim the Championship and the mousemat! YAY!!!
-----------
The Result:
Half Time: Portugal 0-0 Greece
Full Time: Portugal 0-1 Greece
Scorer: Charisteas
-----------
The Points:
McKay The Disorganised - 4 points (half time & full time)
Number Six - 4 points (half time, scorer & 1st scorer)
riotact - 4 points (half time, scorer & 1st scorer)
sprout - 4 points (half time, scorer & 1st scorer)
WILD BIRIYANI - 4 points (half time & full time)
Alfredo Marquez - 2 points (full time)
Bottletop - 2 points (half time)
Demon Drawer - 2 points (scorer & 1st scorer)

GreyDesk - 2 points (half time)
Master B - 2 points (half time)

Well done, Bottletop.
I prefer to think of myself as finishing five points behind you rather than nine places behind you.

Well, thank you gents, what a great competition.
Thanks, once again, to that man behind the grey desk, for all his efforts and hard work, thanks GD. (enjoy your holiday!) and thanks to my fellow players, for all the ‘banter & craic’ that makes lurking here so enjoyable. Greece did a good job for me in the end too, by winning (after H/T), and keeping on top of the table in the last round……
Looking forward to Season Twelve….
Makes a nice tagline too

Well done BT -
I have a little Excel speadsheet called mini-footy stars, which basically is little caricatures of footballers (old and new) whom you have to identify, if anyone would like a copy to while away the hours until August 7th then drop me an e-mail address on my home space.
