h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*the bird freezes in mid air, falling to the water. Just before it hits and sinks to its death, it comes back to life, flying away*

*Curmanis runs up to the edge of the ferry, jumping the two meter gap to the pier, rolling into a standing up position*

*turning around to face the pier, sticks two fingers into his mouth and whistles to his horse. The horse takes the jump at a leap, landing on the on the pier*

*almost dropping with sleep she moves back to Lycan and cuddles into his arms; he feels so warm and safe that she is soon asleep*

*scratches eyebrow*

*the Ferry turns away from the dock at atempts to return to Oane*

*with a great cracking sound, a tree breaks away from the shore and falls on the ship, sinking it*

*the Ferryman is seen paddling down river on a piece of timber*

[Polonius] I guess we're stuck here until the storm ends. Lycan, where's this house you found?

*climbs onto his horse, looking across at Lycan*

*A figure moves in the shadows of the water.*


*A large tenticle erupts out of the water in a fury of swift movement.*


*It wraps its large tenticle around the leg of Lord Curmanis' horse.*


*And whips it as hard as it can. Seven more arms flash about the gruop of unsuspecting Magicians.*

*Spins around on his horse and shoots his crossbow arrows at the tenticles*

*A few of the bolts miss. One strikes true and a cry can be heard from the creature.*


*One of the horses is almost pulled into the water.*


*The rest of the arms try to hit the rest of the magicians group.*

*In one movement Curmanis jumps off his horse and slashes at the tentacle with his scimitar*

*The creature screams into the night. It's tenticle lieing down on the ground.*


*One of the horses thats in the grasp of the creature nays violently to try to get to freedom as its being dragged under the water, to its watery death.*


*Three of the arms try to work on Lord Polonius, two of them attacking him and the third wrapping its slimey limb across the muscled horses legs.*

*The last three work on keeping the companions confused and disoriented. By smacking around the faces trying to knock out or even kill its victims.*

*another tentacle tries to wrap around Curmanis*

*Curmanis throws his pack off his back, towards the shore*

*Takes a run at the closest tentacle and clings onto it*

*stands upon the horse and leaps into the overhanging tree*

*from there, shoots waxed bolts at the creature's head-regeon or where-ever the screaming was coming from*

*drops back so the horse is out reach then jumpsto the floor*


*growls then flicks arms out and crossbow bolt 'claws' snap into place*

*electricity wraps around the bolts then Lans roars and jumps down onto a tentacle*

*one 'claw' sticking into the tentacle while the the other is thrust in and out through punches*

*The creature flials about trying to get the humans off. It greatly underestimated the power of the humans.*


*It tries to retreat grabbing what horse meat it can to the depths of the waters.....*

*Cuts the tentacle he is hanging onto and jumps off, rolling onto the pier*

*Leaps onto his horse and rides it away to a safe distance from the monster, turning around to watch it retreat*

*A tenticle lies on the ground squirming around in the wet ground.*


*It's face is now completely under the water, pulling three horses with it. And still under attack by another human on one of its tenticles.*

*from up in the tree, shoots an exploding bolt at the trunk*

*the trunk breaks and falls forwards into the water, while simultaniously Polonius climbs to the back of the tree*

*the tree, with all it's sharp and pointy limbs and branches, tumbles into the water on top of the octopus*

*Polonius climbs out of the tree and runs down the now horizontal trunk*

*The creature now mostly submerged didn't get hurt as much by the falling tree.*


*Two of the horses of the three are now completely under water taking there last breaths until the everlasting blackness takes them whole.*


*The third horse kicking wildly to try to break free of the slimey grasp.*


*Only 2 tenticles remain above the water.*


*One being attacked and of course the other one severed.*
