I don't think that the 'how' of RV is nearly as interesting as the 'why'.
Whether it's acausality or genuine Psi, what we have here are two major cold war governments investing money in a program to investigate, codify and apply a phenomena that may or may not exist. Were they so desperate for an edge in the Cold War that they would have employed any hokey nonsense?
I also think that the physics and Jungian angles deserve Guide entries on their own, so that if you wanted to explain any psychic phenomena with reference to them you have Edited Guide entries to link to.

Well actualy Babylon 5's Psy corps are a pretty good example of a Sci Fi equivelent. That's where I came up with the idea of a psychic cop incase you hadn't noticed!

...and JMS based the Psi Corps on the book 'The Demolished Man' by Alfred Bester, which is why the head Psi-Cop's name is Al (Alfred) Bester. JMS is a big fan. Know your sources!

I'm still interested in that, but am in the middle of Subbing two entries, writing two others and moving house.
I should be able to throw some time at a collaboration at the end of next week, though, when the house move is done and dusted.
In the meantime, though, I suspect the Scouts will want to move this to the Flea Market.

It's ok about the "when" aspect of it... I have a few things to work on myself... Just let me know whenever you're ready...
I had an email many months ago about the Project Star Gate... I will try to get it back from my old email account... And as it was from another h2g2 Researcher as well, I'll let her know about the potential collaborative entry...
I will keep an eye open regarding the Flee Market... If I see this entry there before you do, I will grab it on your behalf...?!
Talk soon...

Good call, loup.
I've got to unpack a few books before I can do some serious research, so yeah...if you see the entry, nab it!

So, following that helpful prompting (though at something of a distance, admittedly), I propose moving the entry to FM.

Many agencies here, and abroad have been notified of an emphatic verification from the research lab PEAR, Princeton University, which agreed with the conclusions submitted, i.e., that the nature of 'acausality' has been proven. In other words, "psychic relativity" is a fact....
This is a sample of a mailing sent to various agencies, etc.

Subject: .... unique verification ....
The following is based on details emphatically verified at the advanced group PEAR, Princeton University.
Dimensional templates were first theorized by Professor W. Pauli, Nobel Laureate, Physics, (exclusion principle) who indicated that acausal connections exist in the space/time continuum. Currently known as M-theory, various physicists have developed a model of the mathematics involved in this research.
Our research was based on the archetypal foundations of number theory, and this is the first scientific verification of that possibility.
One of the conclusions, (verified) is that a star in the local group, that is, one within 100 light years of Earth, went supernova, (exploded) in the past. The star is Kochab, an orange giant in Ursa Minor, (little dipper) which is some 83 light years distant. There is no possibility of error with the conclusions, but the best we can offer as a probable timeline for this supernova explosion is - within months, at the earliest, from September 2004, on.....
Based on previous research into a possible supernova close to Earth, some 2 million years ago... Narciso BenÃtez, John Hopkins University: Cosmic ray emissions from a supernova could have had a potentially devastating effect on the Earth's ozone layer, an upper layer of the atmosphere that absorbs harmful ultraviolet emissions from the sun and other sources. This would have produced a significant reduction in phytoplankton abundance and biomass, with devastating effects on other marine populations.
The basis for this extraordinary verification can be explained in a 'phone conversation, and a full review of all details could follow.

Does this need a 'move' email sending?

This one is just total garbage, anyway. It's someone's crackpot theory dressed up as fact.

Well no it does hurt if it takes up staff time in reading a reminder that's been sent just two working days after the original message. Jimster and Paully have said that they will get round to doing the moves but that it is not necessarily at the top of their list of things to do. Staff resource is a limited thing. Please don't waste it.

Hey, chill your jets GD,
Being a new scout and still finding my feet then any advice is very much welcome and while I am building up my skills in PR, one of the things I can help out with is clearing old entries from PR and posting to newbie entries that are unsuitable.
However I am still very much following the pattern that more experienced scouts use, so when Mikey says it is being added to an email I simply made sure it was known I had already posted it to the group with a half joke at the end so it didn't seem like I was telling Mikey what to do or what not to do.
I appreciate the staff are busy.
Rather than nipping my head, perhaps posting something like - "well it is better to wait [insert time scale here] and if they are still in PR then, it is worth sending a reminder email of moves still to be done in case they have overlooked any."
Anyway, I take the point but would ask that everyone remembers I am new to this and trying to help with the chores.

It's simply not efficient to do a move email and to individually check which of the many entries has been recently emailed in -- this is why I'm adding "added to email" every time I'm doing so, so that people will know when the email went. A large chunk of entries that are seconded are *not* emailed that day, and of the entries that were originally emailed in a month or more ago, a good chunk are still here, *even though* the Italics have already gone through that move email.
If they want the move emails in batch, as they've requested, then they're going to have to deal with the fact that some emails will include moves that have previously been requested but not done yet. There's just no way for us, as scouts, to know which moves they just haven't gotten to yet, and which have completely fallen through the cracks.
