Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary] Posted Jul 9, 2005
Hey Haik, sorry to hear about the weather...
Here it's pretty usual summer (i.e. fairly hot and dry, all the time; though at night, like now, it's actually quite nice and cool). I've had a pretty insane week last week, but now my next exam is just on 28/7 so that should be alright.
Can't wait to hear the Kyoto report!

*tiptoes in so as not to awake Jack, though with his snoring he'd probably not even notice*
A whole free day today!
So I hopped on a bus and went to Sekigahara, the site of the famous battle where Tokugawa Ieyasu defeated his enemies’ armies and secured his not-too-distant future as Shogun. He then united Japan under one ‘progressive’ government and thus started the ‘Edo’ period. It was cool.
Also went to Hikone castle. Awesome, very largely huge. Much bigger than Hamamatsu castle. Pictures will be forthcoming when I get around to uploading them.
And stuff. The weather was actually just straight-up hot…no rain and not very humid at all. Had lunch overlooking one of the caste moats. Very nice.
New quotage:
1)
"My uncle was born in America."
"Oh, really?"
"But he was one of the lucky ones. He managed to escape in a balloon during the Jimmy Carter presidency."
2)
"Only a year ago, I was teaching a course in black history at the University of Blaupunkt."
3)
"I know a little German... he's sitting over there."

It's the only movie of its kind (genre) that I like.
4)
"How do we know he's NOT Mel Torme?"
5)
"Listen to me Hillary. I'm not the first guy who fell in love with a woman that he met at a restaurant who turned out to be the daughter of a kidnapped scientist only to lose her to her childhood lover who she last saw on a deserted island who then turned out fifteen years later to be the leader of the French underground."
"I know. It all sounds like some bad movie..."
6)
"Hillary...That's an unusual name."
"It's a German name. It means 'she whose bosoms defy gravity'."
"I'm pleased to meet you. My name's Nick."
"Nick? What does that mean?"
"Oh, nothing. My dad thought of it while he was shaving."

HAIKEEBA! Posted Jul 13, 2005
You're letting down the team here Nuke, I thought you'd have it for sure. Fo shizzle even.
7)
"Nick, I've tried everything... the embassy, the German government, the consulate. I even talked to the U.N. ambassador. It's no use... I just can't bring my wife to orgasm."
8)
*Nick says something in German*
"That's great Nick. What does it mean?"
"Is your daughter 18?"
9)
*Nick says something in German to Gestapo officer. Officer aims gun at Nick*
"What did you say to him?!"
"Nothing, I just said that I'd put his name on the Montgomery Ward's mailing list."
"Your attitude has been noted Mr. Rivers."

Fo shizzle?
Pssh. All I have is Faux shizzle.
Sorry.
I got nothing here, man. Not ringing a bell, or anything.
...but I do feel that my head really hasn't been to clear lately...

Well, I'd tell you all the title but I can't because it's Top Secret!
Val Kilmer's first movie. Sorta a spy/music/Elvis/romance/action/war movie parody.
Somebody else pick a new one.

" We're not tourists. We're travelers. "
"Oh. What's the difference? "
"A tourist is someone who thinks about going home the moment they arrive."
"Whereas a traveler might not come back at all."
"You mean I'm a tourist."
"Yes, and I'm half and half."

"You've been to North Africa before, Port. Kit and I will just follow your plan."
" My only plan is, I have no plan. "
3
"Oh, Tunner, stop trying to be interesting. On you it looks terrible. And you're too good-looking. "
4
" Champagne yes, philosophy no."

Problem is, that Jack isn't really around very often...
*Whispers* They usually keep him locked up, you see. */*
So I reckon it's up for grabs again!

I'll pick a nice topical film then:
1)
"We must stop the killing, or loose the war."
Lounge Forty-Two
HAIKEEBA! Posted Jul 20, 2005
2)
"Whad'ya think? Bag it or try for it?"
"You game?"
"I need lighter fluid."
"You got it."
3)
"Spam!"
"You bring a can opener?"
"No, I guess I didn't."
"Then don't knock it, it's got it's own key."

NuclearConfusion -Not a lot of money in the revenge business Posted Jul 21, 2005
I'm up way past my bedtime, so my brain is pretty much in waking dead mode right now.
And it is suddenly very clear to me that this movie of quotes is from "Dawn of the Dead".
We're coming to get you again, Barbara.
...I'll be back with a quote of my own later. Right now, I can't think of ... movie of quotes? Why did I write that? I meant quotes from the movie, or something. ...now I'm writing down everything that I'm thinking. Time to sleep, well, ep, so 'night, all. Oh, and it won't be a quote of my own really, probably something I've seen in a movie someplace. And in all likelyhood, it will be a zombie survival film.
known some people who died, DIED...
Good night. ...I already said that. Did I? Oh yeah, there it is. ...I'm still writing down everything that I'm thinking. Odd, that.
