Ah, good work Nuke.
Yeah, George A. Romero's 'Dawn of the Dead', one of my favs. I love zombie movies. He just made the newest, Land of the Dead, but it's not out here in Japan.
The Cicadas are driving me crazy. So is the heat and humidity. Watch Akira Kurosawa's brilliant "Stray Dog" and you'll know what its like here now.
"When there's no more room in Hell, the Dead shall walk the earth."
mmmmmmmm brains...
*waits for Nuke's next quote*

Cicadas? Neat. I just saw a National Geographic channel show about Hornets from Hell, in Japan.
Those were wicked lookin motherbuggers. Stay away from those guys, yeah?
Okay, I was really burned out last night, so this may or may not be a zombie movie.
...although 'Dawn' is the only Romero flick in which the word "zombie" is ever mentioned. Odd that.
Anyway, quote number one:
"When a man says no to champagne, he says no to life."

Hornets from Hell... yeah huge M.F.s, buzz right by you and sound like a helecopter going by. Since I have a garden I have go go hunting every now and then with a can of hornet killer to keep them at bay. Bite your head off man.
Ehrm, the flick sound familiar but I'm too drunk to remember clearly at the moment... Attack of the Killer Shrews?
>...although 'Dawn' is the only Romero flick in which the word "zombie" is ever mentioned. Odd that.<
They're not zombies... they're the "living challenged" gotta be P.C. you know...

Killer Shrews? ...I'm almost tempted to say you are correct. But not enough to make it true.
Sorry.
Quoting continues.
Quote#2
"One shot. That's what it's all about. One shot."
and how about another one. Not really a quote, but one of the most memorable sounds ever captured on film.
Quote#3

Time Bandits
No. ...frickin ... no.
And I've found that Journey was right all along.
Don't Stop Believin'.
But, no, no killer shrews, either.
Quote #4
"This is this. This ain't something else. This is this."
Anything yet?
Not even hearing *click* helped?

Excellent job, cathrennes!
*click* make sense now, people? C'mon!
...but, I don't think your quote counts. It's basically just like mine, but changed around a little bit. That's against the rules.
Pick a new quote.

cathrennes Posted Jul 25, 2005
"When a (wo)man says no to champagne, (s)he says no to life."
This was not a new quote, just a little joke......
Here's the new one:
"Things are always different from what they might be.'
( maybe Lady P knows this one!?)

Don't know the movie at the moment but I agree with the quote.
Typhoon today. Almost blew my car off the road. I say it's the heat AND the humidity for sure. SO much rain I can barely see in front of the car but I'm sweating 'cause it's so #&$^#%! hot and humid. Blech.
Usually 35C and whatever super humid % is.

...Is a typhoon separate from a monsoon? Because I know they have a season, but seem to be similar...
...no reason.
*tap tap* this thing on?

HAIKEEBA! Posted Jul 26, 2005
Er, I don't know... I just know when they say "tie-foo" (taifu) on the radio it then gets all rainy and windy and generally crazy.
Lounge Forty-Two
Jay Posted Jul 27, 2005
*ahem*
Monsoons are seasonal winds that produce heavy rainfall, but are not rotational or cyclonic in structure. Typhoons are cyclonic and form over low pressure systems in warm waters. Incidentally, the difference in a typhoon and hurricane is the region in which it forms. Typhoons form in the northwest Pacific Ocean west of the dateline, while hurricanes form in the north Atlantic and north Pacific Oceans east of the dateline.
Carry on....

Huh. Thanks, Jay. ...almost sounds like a brochure from an air conditioning company.
So is there a difference between a cyclone and a tornado?
...anyway, to business...
I still don't know about the quotes. All that happens is I read number three and think "You know the saying, 'you always hurt the ones you love'? Well, it works both ways."
~Fight club
But then I think over recent events, and can't help but think that both of these quotes are totally false.
I really want to believe that, at any rate
Lounge Forty-Two
Jay Posted Jul 27, 2005
Nah, not an a/c brochure, just a girl who's been through a few hurricanes and lived to tell about it...
As for the movie quote, I have no idea...
Lounge Forty-Two
Jay Posted Jul 27, 2005
oh, and as for cyclones and tornados? Yes. Same thing. (Bluffing. I think so, but I'm not from tornado alley, just hurricane central).

Hm, what? Me? Why?
No, sorry, I don't think I recognise any of these quotes... *shrug* anyone else?
