Here we are Ladies, Gentleman, Fish, Dragons and other assorted hangers on.
The first article to get the H2G2 Grand Tour treatment is this one Covent Garden, London, UK. Home to many things, including the towers.
From here we'll move round and see what turns up. I plan to stay for a week before moving on.

*DD gets out juggling balls*
OK some street entertainment until TBTWVH turn up out of the towers.

Blimey, you guy's are quick! I've hardly put the info into the places it needs ato go and you're here.
Ay way DD you'll need to do more than just juggling to be a street entertainer round here. Seen it, ignored it

*DD takes out a Rugby ball, bowling ball and cannon ball and start juggling these*

Bluebottle Posted May 22, 2000
*BB sets the cannon ball alight, superglues a massive rugby player to the rugby ball and a bowling green to the bowling ball, just to make it more impressive*

Well, H2G2 is just around the corner from Covent Garden...

Which is why I chose this place to start. Have you read the article and do you think it's true?

Bluebottle Posted May 22, 2000
I read the article - but I don't really know how true or not it is. Afterall, I'm not a Londoner, and I don't bother going to Covent Garden when I'm in London anyway. I admit it's not the nicest looking of places, though.

It's nice.
*Pulls out a camcorder, suspends it in midair, and modifies it*
Okay, this'll be CamBot. So the people at Crater Labs can laugh at any embarrasing moments on the trip.
You know, I've heard of people who live in the same city as a major tourist attraction who seldom, if ever, go there, such as the Statue of Liberty in New York. Is this place kinda the same?
BTW, DD, this is what attracts a crowd.
*Pulls out several scimitars, flaming torches, light sabres, maces, grappling hooks, and hammers, and bowling pins. Begins juggling while shakes the hands of passing tourists*

It's not very fast streaming, and tends to be static at night, but it might give you a feel for the place if you've never been there. The camera is placed outside the Transport Museum. On Sunday mornings you will often find live music at this very spot.
Thanks Phil, I love Covent Garden. (Well, it's in London so what did you expect!)

Jesus, I hate this place. Been here twice and it is full of tourists!
(not including us, of course. We are Researchers after all.)
Hey, lets go upstairs to the pub. We can see all the daft entertainers from the balcony, indulge in a few beers and drool at the Tottie that walks past.
Try and make something good out of this dump!

So where are the flowers and shrubs and plants and things? This is a garden, isn't it???

Bluebottle Posted May 23, 2000
So where are the Nuns and Nuns and Nuns and Nuns? This is a Convent, isn't it??? Oh, whoops, nope, it's a Covent.
What's a Covent anyway? Isn't it something to do with witches? Sounds like the Nuns again...

It was in fact the garden for the Convent at Westminster Abbey. Any extra vegetables were sold to the locals.
