*Wanders into the museum for a look. Is impressed with the huge display of gum found under seats.*

I also like the grafitti exhibit, and the worn seat cushion display.

The camera does have s l o w reloading I know, but perhaps the powers at the towers could have a working lunch there.
The best web cam to wave in front of is on the HMS Belfast. It has a view of the Tower and Tower Bridge. Waving is positively encouraged. The camera has a very fast streaming rate. When it is new Year, the crew all wave and hold up placards. Visitors often do this too for the 'folks back home'.
You can take a ride on a very old red London bus from the museum if you are lucky.
*remembers the string to pull, just like when coelacanth was a young fish. ding ding*

Well the day before the meet up I would have been on this webcam. Should would Diane Louise Jordan who was shooting something at the first table at the market.

Actually no I didn't I was too busy avoiding the Camera on DLJ at the time, although I know I've been on webcams in many locations I tend to ignore the fact. Especially one in a bar I drink in from time to time.

Did you have any sticky backed plastic or a washing up liquid bottle with you? You could have made a realistic looking web cam that would make a lovely gift for mother's day.

hi there, have just arrived and -hey look, you can't see it on the webcam but, over there is a Haegen Daasz-shop selling one of the best ice creams humankind is able to manufacture. Anybody got a good idea how to get some gratis?

Babel17 Posted May 26, 2000
One of us could go into the shop and buy an ice cream, then Coelacanth could jump onto the top of the cone. You go back into the shop and say 'Excuse me, I just bought this Ice cream, but there appears to be a large blue fish in it. Now I feel that your ice cream may be contaminated, so a fresh one will not suffice. In fact, I have a good mind to complain to the Environmental Health people about your establishment. I know somebody who works there, and it would only take a phonecall on my mobile. However, if some sort of gesture of goodwill was forthcoming from yourselves, say fresh ice creams from a fresh source in your freezer, for myself and a couple of friends, the matter might well be forgotten, it is just a suggestion and entirely up to yourself' and end with a smile to the manager
Worth a try. If not, we could always go to the Covent Garden Soup Co. and say we were the 'Health Inspectors'!

Alternatively, we could just go in and say 'Gosh, I've heard about this place, but have never tried your ice cream. Is it possible to sample a few?', once you have tried quite a few, buy the smallest cone/tub possible and leave.

No, I'm sure they're sick of me doing that by now.

*Comes out of Ice Cream Shop carrying a gallon of Rocky Road and a box of cones*
Anyone for ice cream?
*mingled gasps and other exclamations of wonder*
How did I get it? Well, I just asked. It turns out that the virtual ice cream is free!

coelacanth Posted May 26, 2000
*Jumps into virtual ice cream anyway, because coelacanth is always first to try out something new *
I have found that the cheese shop round the corner from here is very forthcoming with free samples if you ask nicely.
*realises that this opens up opportunities for Python quotes, but still decides to say it.*

"When I hear those ice cream bells, I start to drool;
Keep a couple quarts in my locker at school;
Yeah, but chocolate's gettin' old, vanilla just leaves me cold;
There's just one flavor good enough for me (Yeah, me!)
Don't gimme no crummy taste spoon, I know what I need;
Baby, I love Rocky Road!
So why don'tcha go and buy half a gallon, baby?
I Love Rocky Road!
So have another tripple scoop with me!"

Bank holiday monday, nothing open round here that's why it's not yet moved
I'll probably put up the new location later this evening when I've had a bit of a browse round.
