*The snowball lands a few yards away from Mad Cadet Fish because NYC Student is currently several thousand miles away in the French Alps (A2146547). Heck, there's no way of really knowing if Mad Cadet Fish even threw the thing in the right direction! Alas... :P*

*little paperboy runs across the field*
Paperboy: Extra, extra! Read all about it!
Huge rebellion at STUMPED home base!
Drones sick and tired of super-villains telling them what to do!
Extra, extra! Read all about it!
*the paper boy disappears. Before the stumped leaders can utter a word about "ridiculous attempt of disinformation", roughly three-quarters of their ships land and disarm, and cheering crowds of ex-soldier-drones stream out, throwing in the air confetti that used to be very important and irreplaceable confidential documents, and also activating the self-destruct mechanism of the ships. The ex-soldier-drones then run away in all directions and start getting drunk on stolen champagne*

I don't see why it should be illegal. Plus, I don't care. They attacked us, we have a right to be nasty.
They really don't have a right to complain about rules and stuff. It's like when your big brother jumps on you from behind and twists your arm, expecting you to fight back and lose, and is then surprised when you call out for mom...
[PS - I bet they will recover. They'll find some annoying reason why the whole thing was their idea in the first place, or at least helps them in some highly complicated way, as they have done so far]

I'm not reading 40, very long, posts!
What has happened since I predicted that they'd gone?

-It has been determined that this zone isn't controlled by the Laws of Continuity.
-The Laws of Continuity affect the reality of STUMPED.
-Ergo, even if that post had been legal under the "rules" that are "followed" to determine the reality of STUMPED (which it wasn't, by the way, for a few complicated reasons that you would yell at me for getting in to), it would have no effect on the reality of STUMPED. Theoretically, you could argue that none of this fight even happened in the STUMPED timeline, although I'm pretty sure that there are definitely seven fewer ships than there were before.

Wøñkø Posted Feb 1, 2004
/theoretically/. so that's not true.
and of course you mentioned cheationg, soobviously that's going to override everything else and make w/e you didn't want to happen happen.

Afgncaap5 Posted Feb 1, 2004
Well, I say theoretically because it has yet to be decided, and I mention "cheating" because that's the general consensus for a lot of people about how we operate when they haven't read the Laws Of Continuity (a three paragraph set of laws that would take maybe a minute. *MAJOR* inconvenience to read, as you can no doubt understand).
Anyway, to spell it out as the laws of continuity would, that posting registers as an attack on the creation of a player, and players decide how/if attacks affect their creations (the attacker can't decide that). Ergo, the reality will not be decided until the player who owns the creation (ie me) posts a response to the attack (probably the next time I get around to making a STUMPED based post, which won't be for a while due to my previously mentioned schedule).
It's theoretically possible that I'll decide to go along with the attack if I decide that the attacker has enough skill and influence over the weapon that was attacked with. However, because the weapon was *also* in my control at the time of the attack, it's very, very unlikely that I'll do so.
Call it cheating and whining if you like. But I have to play by the rules that I agreed to play by, or else it really *would* be cheating, now wouldn't it?

Wøñkø Posted Feb 1, 2004
I have this weird feeling that you don't have to play by the rules you agree to play by. you have to play by the rules WE agree to play by, cuz it's our base.
Against you!
Afgncaap5 Posted Feb 1, 2004
And while I'm at your base, I do play by you rules as I gladly did until I was finished. But I left well before that final attack. And even if I hadn't, the two rules present two different systems of reality that don't mix well. Ergo, they don't. So I still play by the rules I agreed to play with, and seemingly stopped playing here just in time.

Where is the fun of the battle? Where is the complete chaos and insanity I came here for?
You compalined at us before about playing in what you called "god mode"; the mode you want to play in looks (to me) like a we-always-win-because-we-have-super-duper-fancy-weapons-that-will-kick-your-ass-and-even-if-you-have-super-duper-weapons-too-then-we're-immune-to-them-and-we-use-our-super-super-duper-weapons-that-will-definitely-kick-your-ass-ergo-we-win-again-so-there mode.
On some other thread, not long ago, I had a fruit war that ended with the furniture dancing around in a circle and GB being swallowed by a desk, having to riverdance his way out. Now THAT's what I call a fun battle!

Oh, and by the way, GB - you really _should_ read those 40 posts... you can probably skip the stumped posts (which are usually the long ones), but I think some of the nonsense along the line is rather nice.

*STUMPED is a rival supervillainous organization, Afgncaap5 is the head of Crater Labs, Inc; neither of which are present at the moment as you are a dollar short and a day late. 'Course, you're always welcome to try battling the denizens of either STUMPED or Crater Labs - the catch, of course, being that you have to do so in an area defined by the rules of Continuity. =P*
