Coming to think about it, I recall a cover that looked like it had something to do with Science Fiction. Is that right?

It's the author's name.
He's famous for writing the "Discworld" novels - of which there are 25 so far.
But he has also written the "Truckers" trilogy ("Truckers", "Diggers", "Wings")
The Johny Trilogy ("Only You Can Save Mankind", "Johnny And The Dead", "Johnny And The Bomb")
Plus "The Carpet People", "Strata", "The Dark Side of the Sun" and "Good Omens" with Neil Gaiman.
Oh - and "The Unadulterated Cat" with someone else - but I've not read that one.
