Something I have never understood: If you make an alcoholic drink, it's made alcoholic because we enjoy the alcohol, and then made to taste good, cause alcohol in itself does not go well with most peoples tasteorgans. Why then, take the alcohol out of an alcoholic drink?

Very good point JAR
I'm surprised none of the candidates in the Virtual Prez race didn't use something like that as a slogan...
Regarding the "knekkebrød":
My online-dictionary tells me that the correct term is "crispbread" in British English and "rye crisp" in US English. So there!!
IIEM, more coffee please!

Normaly we don't, but they don't serve alcohol in this café, and the IIEM is programmed to make every drink in exictense only sans alcohol. We go to the F&F or to Lil's if we want anything stronger than coffee

So, what are you guys up to this weekend?
I for one am going to Copenhagen with "bedriftsidrettslaget" to a annual clinch with the people working on our factory there. Should be fun!!

I only know that I'm heading straight to the pub next door and have a pint before we do anything else!
The kid is being picked up by my sister today, so the weekend has a lot of opportunitys
Go to the cinema perhaps? Dinner in town? No, wait.
We are invited to dinner with the neighbours. Have to buy some wine then.....

The IIEM doesn't serve alcohol? That does the opposite of explaining the atmosphere here...
The weekend will consist of beer, beer and roleplaying games. Only the first two are mixed though... I love having a life void of responsebility. Dreaded is the day it all changes.. allthough everyone I know that has made the transition seems to be in good shape. I suspect it's all a ploy to lure us irresponsible to join their ranks... maybe...

Oh, I'm sure I'll find time for some beer . Might even squeeze in some horse riding and a trip to the cinema .

He, he, when you see how crazy we can get by just drinking soft drinks and coffee, imagin how it would be in here if there was served alcohol!
But I think it's possible to arrange parties here occasionally, and then the wine can flow and the beer foame!

Horseriding? That is one thing I never got the hang of. I think horses don't like me. The one horse I have tried to ride (bareback mind you!) is thrice or twice norwegian champion in some sport I don't know the name of, but basically resolves around the horses being very kind and carefull with the usually mentally challenged minors that rides them. This supposedly benign, helpfull horse threw me. First I slid of, and then next time it threw me. The third attempt allso ended in me being thrown.
I haven't tried to ride since.
But good luck!
Now, I have to run, w*rk is over and the buss is waiting to take me home to Weekend
G'bye!!

Sorry, belated response...went home for lunch...
I come, as many people know, from San Beta...
Well actually, i was born on Earth, but I came to h2g2 from San Beta.
Lovely place...the planet itself has the sweetest seawater in the entire GalaGroup...think of water, topped to the full with sugar...but not too much...that's San Betian Seawater!
Naturally, many people like to add alcohol to it as well...

Hello, BS, Big C...sweet seawater, you say? Hmmmm. I'll stick with a strong coffee today, I think.
IIEM? Could you please?
Aroma Café: The Fellowship of the Latté
Chris Tonks Posted Sep 8, 2000
Ah...yes, it is sweet, but the seawater doesn't have anything in it that makes it taste like Earth seawater...
San Betian Seawater is mainly water, quite pure, and a sweet substance, not found on Earth, which has the same taste as sugar, but doesn't rot teath...
go on, try some...
IIEM? Some San Betian Seawater, if you please.

Busy as usual, BS...at least it's Friday and that's always sweet to me!
*sips Big C's seawater* Tastes great...do you think it could give a mere earthling any special powers?
Ooops..got to run...I own a courier business and somebody just ran into one of my driver's trucks...

Hi, Alien...still deep in the book, I see. Hi, Lil! Yes working at home is a plus. Good news, damage to driver none, repair to truck not going to break me. Bad news, it was hit while parked so perpetrator got away. Just as well. I'm in no mood for being violent!
