Convienient, but advertisers are using it to make their lives even easier. I sometimes use Open to buy CDs and clothes, but now they intend to make most adverts linkable

JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?)

*seemingly in a state of trance, JAR has been completely motionless the last hour. Suddenly his eyes fill with life again*

Back from lunch. Most day at office are really boring, but today, the students have a "get-to-know-eachother" day. They hired a standup comedian. Quite funny actually. It seems this day will be livable after all. smiley - smiley

Isn't there a risk of fraud when buying stuff through the net?

JAR, not quite comfortable with e-buying yet

Less risk than buying in a shop or over the phone, both of which result in someone having potential access to credit card numbers and expiry dates.

MUCH less risk.

Haven't been very active on the e-business-front myself. I do buy cd's on the internet though. And books. Come to think of it, I haven't bought books or cd's in a conventional shop for 2 years...
And I've actually bought more cd's and books the past two years than any other two-year period of my life...

*looks exhausted after saying that much in one post*

Oh? Hmmm, maybe I should give it a bit more thought, then... Allthough I'm a big fan of cash payment. Disvovered* a nice little law here in Norway, stating that every institution, governement-run or private, that can bill you, is bound to accept cash payment. Regardless of bill-size. And it must be at no extra cost for the payer. Means less money spent on administrating money, IF you are willing to risk robbery. In Norway robberies are rare. smiley - smiley
Buying stuff over the phone seems silly. Unless you actually know the store-owner...

JAR, using his credit card way more that he is willing to admit

* Actually, my boss told me about it...

*staggers sadly back in, waves an exhausted hand at the IIEM*

Coffee, white, 2 sugars, please.

Now, this is a question. I live in Russia, but am loathe to buy stuff on the internet cos I'm worried about the reliability of my server here. Am I being paranoid then?

I really don't know, Sol (can I call you that?). Don't know enough about that stuff to have an opinion really.

Joe, I think Boxman actually was founded in Sweden... (go figure... smiley - smiley)

What do you know. Boxman had exactly what I've been looking for these last weeks.. Thank you One-Eye!

Now, if my credit card works....

*checks watch*
Only 45 minutes 'til w*rk is over for today.

IIEM: More coffee, make it motor-oil.

*sips*
Euww!
IIEM, Motor-oil is an expression.... I'll have some coaltablets instead. To offset the oil.

*gulps down the coal, getting an all-black complexion on his tounge*

Irving Washington - Gone Writing

I'd definately like to have met that Sol fellow. I do believe he's the first Russian researcher I've seen. Good Morning, all of you Stateside, and good afternoon, all of you in the UK. Good evening, I suppose for those further East than that...

~Adjusts settings on IIEM so that the next time someone says "motor oil" it gives strong coffee, rather than penzoil~
