Caretaker Counter Part 12

Darn, missed him again... Oh well- one day maybe ?
Anyways, seeing as I'm here and pretty much up to date with the backlog I think I'll just have a mocha and a seat for a while, maybe go see if David (thanks Courtsey) has made his next move yet in our chess game?

Oh, whilst I'm here though- Where did Greebo go? Does anyone know? I guess it means more donuts for all of us though

*Ambles in.*
Now I see Irv on-line, but I don't see Irv.
*Shrugs shoulders and orders a double espresso from no-one in particular .*

*stops outside door to observe handiwork of storm drain*
*Nods approvingly and comes in*
Evenin' BluesSlider, don't usually see you here at this hour.
*looks up*
Biscotti and melons, guys?
*Ook and Pierrot make their way to the floor*

G'day Garius, Queen's Birthday in NZ celebrates King George V's birthday. Amazingly, his birthday falls on the 1st Monday in June each year. Now that's what I call real power. I imagine when un-bonnie Prince Charles takes over we will switch to King's Birthday Weekend - that's if we are not a republic first. Most people will probably vote to remain a constitutional monarchy if there was any chance of losing a day's holiday.
Are we any closer to discovering what breed of parrot Pierrot is?
Caretaker Counter Part 12
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Jun 5, 2000
is it Pierrot, or Poirot? you know, like the Belgian Detective with the little mustache?
Caretaker Counter Part 12
Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Jun 5, 2000
*hugs Irv*
Definitely Pierrot. Garius says so and he's the progenitor. Coffee?
How bout you Looney? No beer here I'm afraid.
It would be nice if it could be a kakapo. I've said it before, and still feel that way. But I don't know much about their mimicry skills.
*gives all but one mango to Ook, then gives mango and a biscotti to Pierrot*

Lonnytunes - Winter Is Here Posted Jun 5, 2000
Black tea with a slice of lemon please Lil.
Pierrot is a male parrot. The male, nocturnal, kakapo spends a lot of time at night inflating and deflating his chest. The resultant, quite loud, boom boom sound attracts the mainly silent females.

Hi Lil, Irv, the rest of the (my) night crowd . I just had a chance to hang around longer than usual so I thought I'd save myself a little backlog . And since I'm here can I get a cc((~))?
Caretaker Counter Part 12
Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Jun 6, 2000
Black tea with a slice of lemon ----> c(~)^
And BSlider's double espresso -----> cc((~))
Hope you noticed the visual pun on your cup...
I don't think we have any silent females here.

*wipes feet and enters*
Hello, everyone! It seems like a busy day around here!
*gets mug from shelf and hears a clinking sound*
What the...? I thought I cleaned this out!
*notices badge inside cup* Hey, this is nice!
*looks at back of badge* Awww, from Michelle.. Thanks, Michelle!
Can I get a cup of coffee? And Lil, do you have any mbougatses left?
Caretaker Counter Part 12
BluesSlider Posted Jun 6, 2000
*Gratefully accepting the cc((~)), which might keep his eyes open a little longer, don't ask why *
I'm assuming that was addressed to me Lil, yes, I loved it, very subtle .

Thanks for the tea Lil. Whose cup are you talking about? If it is mine then I think the crack received when it fell from a trains window while the train was crossing a viaduct is 'smashing'.
Mainly silent females could of course be interpretated as females who only speak when they have something to say....

Hey Redbeard, here ya go -----> c(~)
Hey Blues, how do you like the sound of "Judge Lil"?
Caretaker Counter Part 12
Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Jun 6, 2000
*puts slice of mougatses on plate for Redbeard*
Oh no, you can't provoke me with that sort of thing, you Kiwi cracker!
BluesSlider's mug is a big espresso cup with "espresso" written on it in a sort of doubling, not a drop shadow. It will be on shelf 3. I have to do Courtesy's mug, and Ook's half-shell, and I haven't even thought how my own should be. Any ideas?
*tries to think where a silent female might e found*
Caretaker Counter Part 12
BluesSlider Posted Jun 6, 2000
LOL, not round here for sure
*Ducks as Lil flicks a cleaning cloth at him.*
Time I wasn't here, see you in the (BST) morning .

Redbeard (Thanks to all who supported The Celery!)) Posted Jun 6, 2000
*takes bite of pastry* Oh, that's good stuff!
Figures, Lil, you take care of everyone else's mug, but haven't even thought about your own. Isn't that the way it is with artists?
OK, answer some questions...
What kind of texture do you like to drink from? smooth, rough
Thick or thin brim?
Big mug, small mug? .... I'm guessing not too large, for green tea...
What colors do you like? .... I'm guessing muted earth tones, browns and grays, with a splash of color, but I could be wrong.
Modern look or antique? ... Once again, I'm guessing antique, not frilly antique, but down to earth .
Abstract or realistic design?
Answer these, and then we'll see....
