has anyone ever had the feeling that the website wants you too change your nick?
I mean, when u write a reply, the heading says
"Nickname: XXXX (you can change this from your homepage)"
Maybe it's just me being extremely insecure about my identity....

Nah... The interesting consequence is that researchers use that option like a banner trailing off an airplane. You'll see ads for pages, political statements, virtual titles (patron saints etc.), or plain old news about the researcher in question.

Or you can change your name on a whim, for a few days, or a newbie may decide to make a permanent "upgrade."

Quite effective, actually.
