Caretaker Conversation Part 4

They're so flaky, and the apple filling is sweet and slightly spicy. But I seem to be very biassed toward apple fillings!
I have a magazine here *brandishes zine* that I really regret subscribing too. I thought it was going to be a woman's magazine with a difference, but it has turned into just another breathy bunch of tit and flutter. Look at this: "77 Insanely Sexy Outfits" "How to operate his equipment better than he can" "14 beauty scoops you'll thank us for later" Hello? I'm 51 years old!
The worst part is this close-up of Angelina Jolie. The picture is so seriously airbrushed that not only has she no pores, but they've taken all shading away from the whites of her eyes. It's weird. They don't look round any more.

I always chuckle at the airbrushing work I was in line at the grocery store the other day and saw a magazine with the lead actress from Will & Grace (states NBC network) - a great show btw - now she is a beautiful lady, but she doesn't really have a bust, well in this picture she was overflowing from a dress .....
When did reality decide to take a break and why wasn't I notified?

The Facial Leat have to spend so much time and money on appearance. I read somewhere that it basically takes 2 months to get ready for a public appearance like Oscar night, when you factor in the exercise regimen. If surgery is on the agenda, you give away 8 months.
It's only in the past 18 months that I have ceased to take these magazines and their hot advice for granted. I got to 50 years and suddenly these zines look comical.

I've always found them amusing, and I'm fifteen, so don't worry.

They have very little to tell me... nothing I couldn't hear or see within a week if I wanted too.

I reckon to cancel the subscription. I hardly have time to read the New Yorker and Wired and Outside as well as the trades.
I'm going to make fresh green tea. Would anyone else like some?
Caretaker Conversation Part 4
Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted May 22, 2000
No, it makes me sad. Some people have too much money and too little taste. Do you personally know anyone who lives in a house with rooms that have only one chair and a large modern sculpture in them?
Caretaker Conversation Part 4
Ioreth (on hiatus) Posted May 23, 2000
As much as I appreciate real art...
At the Philly MoA, there's a room with a piece of (I assume) expensive "sculpture" which is a circle of rocks on the floor.
Come on people! It's not art!

a steamy mocha latte surrounded by a circle of rocks...now thats art ;p

Ah, they had something like that at the Tate about 20 years ago; a neat double stack of red house bricks. Very controversial.
There are three or four magazines that devote their pages to showing off the interiors of rich pople's houses. Not homes. When you read that Mr. and Mrs. Rich decided that their New York penthouse should be designed around Mrs. Rich's collection of Meissen dogs because Mr. Rich had made a nautical jubilee out of the house in Cannes, and they hated to mess with the Regency Style of the flat in Belgravia....
It seems to me there are people with no sense of attachment to any one place. I love my home. I have some nice things, but if they have a flat surface then they probably have a book resting on them.

Time for me to go home for the night, I think.
Ook, could you bus the tables please?
*cleans IIEM and changes filters, then rinses out the brand-new collection of personal mugs and hangs them over the counter*
Here, Ook, some banana tea. That's yer nightcap. Off to the porch with you.
Good morning, Brits.
You know the drill.
I'll be in at about lunchtime BST.
Till then the IIEM exists only to serve you.
P.S. Do tell us about your personal mug. I'll replay the security vidcam and make a note of the descriptions.

Well, as good a time as any I guess to visit a cafe - grab a bit of breakfast (though I'll admit to rather being in bed at *looks at watch* 5.29am - I am still a student, after all )
Having heard so much about this friendly sounding establishment I thought I'd pop in and see what the decor was like and perhaps even try a coffee or something. Perhaps it wouldn't be such a bad idea to come back when there's more people, though. Should give me time to read the threads, too... (not sure what an IIEM is...)

*comes in carrying fresh doughnuts and mbougatses*
Morning, Ook!
*lays out pastries and doughnuts whilst reviewing the night's activity on vidicam*
Cakewalker was here! Hope he comes back later. That was no hour to be looking for company
*takes down sign, obtains melons and bananas for Ook and an A L Special for herself*
Another lovely day on the boardwalk. I wonder where BluesSlider and Joanna are. I wonder if I ought to have started a new thread. Nah, it's only been 24 hours since the last one.

In the corner as usual! Here you go ----> c)~(
Have you noticed that customers have started using personalised mugs? Do you have a special one?

Well, I'll eventually be painting the mugs, so let me know when you've decided...
