Coffee: Making the World get down and Boogie
Babel17 Posted May 4, 2000
Hello *looking quite pale*
IIEM, a flat cola please.
* whoosh as all gas expelled from cola *
Thanks, it is the only thing I am allowed just now as I was sick as a dog 20 hours ago. Woke up and spent the next half hour hugging the loo. There is some bug going around just now. Staggered in to w*** this morning and lasted 2 hours before bing sent home. Slept all day.
Got up at 6pm (4 hours ago). Grim.
Even missed a rendezvous with myself (half of me is currently marooned on BigC's spacestation). Well he/I will have to stay there until tomorrow.
Sorry, just needed to tell someone!
*wanders to corner feeling sorry for self*

Can't be bothered moving.
*sips flat cola and curls up into a ball on sofa*
Night! *promptly nods off*

Cinnamon swirl toast with raisins, lightly browned, and lots of butter... right. Shouldn't be too difficult.
*wanders round the kitchen looking like he knows what he's doing, successfully fooling everybody*
Right, here you go...
I tried InDesign, and decided it was rubbish. Give me PageMaker any day.

My room mate is one of those guys who will buy all sorts of things for a computer -- I on the other hand tend to feel that if an application can't be found for free, I can live without it.

I like Pagemaker too. In fact, I use it as my word processor and do-all ... except for the things it can't do. Much of that, however, can be faked by painting the image and messed-with fonts in Painter.
Well, if worst comes to worst, InDesign goes into the tax write-off bin. Meanwhile, I have web stuff to learn.
This toast is excellent.

Again, a rushed evening. And this weekend I'll be away so no relief till next weekend. Aargh.
I'll have a normal hot chocolate, and some of that cinnamon toast... mmm.
g'night

Hey Irv, I went round to look at Mama Peta's, and while it might be a really good restaurant, it's not where one goes every day to have breakfast and watch the world out the window, like here. In fact, it looks as if business is very slow, so I was thinking maybe we could give Demon Drawer a bit of a boost.
What I'm thinking of is to make a reservation for about 3 weeks from now for a going-away dinner party for Mike A. A lot of people are going away, actually, so it would be nice to have an Italian banquet in Mike A's honour and for everyone who'll be going away for the summer. If I make a reservation, will you join us? Anybody else? I can safely discuss it here, I think -- although I'm not sure how one throws a suprise party, we should be able to think of something in the safety of the cafe. Mike A won't be here for a week at least, while he's revising. His dad has limited to one hour of online time per night, and for all I know he confiscates the telephone flex

Yeah but some government employees are so dumb they open everything, and then a 14,000 or more mailing list is opened.

Mornin' y'all!
*is followed in by very thin orangutang, our Ook*
Nice to see youse guys back. Anybody seen Vlad?
IIEM, make it one A L Special, 2 canteloupes and half a dozen bananas. Ook, off to the porch with you and enjoy your breakfast.
*picks up AL special and copy of the Guardian, heads for favourite table*
I do believe I have an intelligent ISP: it must be blocking ILOVEYOU and FW:JOKE messages from its mail servers. Haven't seen a one and service is humming along normally. Two days ago h2g2 was in a death crawl, but it got snappy again last night.
DD have you thought of adding pizza delivery to your restaurant? You would soon be as busy as Irv or Joanna. Course, maybe you don't want that.
