It is now 4:03pm and my accomplishments today include... making a grilled cheese sandwich, then going back to bed.

I haven't the faintest idea what Yar and Mog were talking about, and yet I recognized that it was a pure kind of geekery (in French, geequerie).

Up late again, Irv? IIEM... thank you.

Almost 9.30 am here in Stockholm - grey, cloudy morning, but a bit warmer than lately.

Later than I'd like. I also know that as I go to sleep in the evening, most of the researchers in the UK and EU are just waking up.

[Mog] Another weekend, another failed attempt at catching up with sleep.

I know just how you feel, Mog.

Coffee's on the house today.

[Mog] As long as it isn't accidentally way too hot and you don't drive with it between your legs ...

Mog, if you're refering to McDonald's coffee, at the time of that lawsuit it was McD's company policy to keep the coffee at a temperature that they knew had caused 3rd degree burns in at least 3 previous customers.

Here at the Cafe, we keep our coffee from going cold by brewing it fresh on a regular basis. Interesting concept, no?

Anyway, I have cafe au lait, so it wouldn't be scalding. *returns to consideration of the game board. use all the high-scoring letters at once? Or play it safe and let the Librarian create more opportunities?*

IIEM, I'll take a mocha this morning. It's that kind of day.

*edges closer to the fireplace and rubs hands in attempt to warm them up*

Night frost, and of course I forgot to bring gloves when I left home at 7 am this morning - but it was worth it! The reason it was so cold was a clear sky, with the moon still visible in it.

As the sun began to rise, it painted the condensation streaks a rosy pink and, once the sun disk rose above the horizon, it painted the yellow, orange and read leaves on the trees a warm gold. The meadows were glistening with the frost and covered by ground mist.

I love autumn mornings like these - too bad I was watching it from a bus, thus unable to take photos.

Michigan is shockingly hot right now. It's about 80 something most of the day.

*sip*

[Dylan] ... having similar, ah, issues with New Hampshire. This is smegging October (and five days away from my 22nd birthday, by the way), it should not be remotely comfortable to ride a bicycle in shorts and a T-shirt. I mean ... it *was* a bit uncomfortable with my backpack, but that was becausse it was *too hot.*

Up in the 80s in October? Welcome to my entire childhood.

It's weird in the US... we usually have the giant refrigerator country north of us purring away by late September.
