Irv!!!! Welcome back. Did you miss us?
We missed you - I've been dying for a majic tea (although that sparkly water was ... um ... special).

Sure, Bluebottle, you're always free to do the washing. And here Garius, have a cup c(*)
Good news, all, Asteroid Lil's Aroma Café float is done, and I'll be recieving it some time soon. I've seen previews (and I've heard that some of you have seen her renderings of your own online personas). Remember, if you haven't been depicted on the float, that doesn't mean that you can't be part of the float party. It would take quite some time to design a float with all the employees and customers...

Here at the place where there are more employees than regulars.
Irv, what was in that sparkling water? Can't wait to see the float, BTW.

Oh, dat tiger teawater... Can't paint without it any more. I pushed as many current employees and regulars as I could without obscuring the float itself. Funny how some floats are about the float and some are about the people on it.
Another sparkly tea for me, if you don't mind.

Ah, that explains it.
*Sips Usual. Realizes that it's empty for the first time in days*
I think I'll have some of what everyone else is talking about!

*smiles at Sir Afgncaap5*
Have you ever had Tiger Teawater before? Are you familiar with the comic strip Krazy Kat by George Herriman?
Such is Sparkly Water
Afgncaap5 Posted Mar 21, 2000
No, I've never had the opportunity.
*Stares dubiously at the sparkly water*

Tiger Water's not bad. Makes you go kid of Krazy, though. Perhaps Greebo might try some at some point (but she'd have to set aside her milk avec straw).
The float (and a beautiful one it is) looks great, and some of you may have had a chance to take a peek. Check your homepages (or in yourcase, Afgncaap5, your Holistic Detective Page under our previous discussion) if you haven't recently.
As far as regulars, very few of the regulars that I've listed still show up, and very few of the current regulars are listed. I'll need to add to the list (I won't subtract). We now do have more custies than employees.

It was a strip than ran daily & in colour on Sundays, in the thirties. the nineteen thirties. Very surreal. Krazy Kat would occasionally go on a bender with Tiger Tea. It made him very euphoric.
*sips her sparkly tea, smiling even wider*

I gather it's like a surealist, thirties version of the Simpson's "Itchy and Scratchy" cartoons. Not as violent, but the same idea.

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Mar 21, 2000
I've never seen that. Is it paper or cyber?
As for violent, considering that the culmination of the strip was, very often, a brick to the head, it was, well, complicated in its own way...

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Mar 21, 2000
"Itchy and Scratchy" are the cartoon characters that the children (Bart and Lisa) on the popular American cartoon the Simpsons watch. Itchy the mouse chases and usually horribly mutilates Scratchy the cat in short cartoon shown on the Krusty the Clown show (Bart and Lisa's favorite show).
The Simpsons themselves were once animated shorts on a comedy show...
Itchy and Scratchy are probably the most violent cartoon characters ever.

I just had a look at the float. It's amazing! Lil, you've done an incredible job. I don't know how you came up with such appropriate images for everyone, but they certainly fit. You've got quite a talent.

Sadly, bluDragon is having a bit of trouble loading the full image. I plan to stick the low res version somewhere soon, and announce it on the parade page, but until then, she might not know what she's missing

Shame she can't she herself in all her scalely precense.
BTW Irv you need to add me to the list of Regulars.
Such is Sparkly Water
BluesSlider Posted Mar 21, 2000
Being something of an irregular can I have a double espresso?
Such is Sparkly Water
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Mar 21, 2000
Yes, the current list is hopelessly out dated. Most the people in this forum are not on the Regulars list, and most those who are on the Regulars list are not in this forum. I think that most of those on the float are not on the list
On the up side, bluDragon says she can load 3/4 of the picture if she waits twenty minutes. No good, but at least she could see herself. The low res version should be posted by my afternoon or evening (remember, I'm Mountain Standard Time)

Thanks to the fact that I'm at w*** and therefore have an enormous amount of bandwidth available I got a good look at the float. I have to say it is excellent, although it took me a while to find it
Such is Sparkly Water
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Mar 21, 2000
Yes, I was a bit stingy in my invites to the float page. It's not that I didn't want you to see it, it's that I wanted to get some reaction from those pictured, first. Soon there will be a much easier to find link
