[Mog] Well, they do -- it's just that, they were alternating between commercials sent by the sports station we were re-broadcasting (sort of -- both are owned by the same company), and commercials sent by us, and since it was between innings and we have no way of /scheduling/ when an inning ends, well ...

Well I bet the person who set up the preview for 24 on Sky tv some weeks ago had a strip torn off him/her for showing the 'previously on 24' segue for the coming week's episode .

I was once told a very, very rough C-->F conversion. Double it and add 30. So 16C = roughly 62F. Close enough if you want a quick figure.

Or use a converter:

IIEM, a please and if you should have any; two rashers of bacon, a poached egg, baked beans and fried bread.

Centigrade or Fahrenheit - either way it's pretty miserable here today.
I must be turning into a Southern Softie - the central heating is back on for a few hours each day. In Scotland, the CH went off on the first of May and we just put on another jumper if we were cold!
We're off to Gloucestershire for a friend's 40th Birthday celebrations.

If a converter is handy I'd use it, but "double it and add 30" works fine when I don't.
Heating on all week here for this Southern softie! A very close friend of mine emigrated to Australia 2 years ago. She's back visiting family in the UK for 2 weeks and is really suffering with the cold. She hadn't forgotten what UK weather can be like, but this really is bad and it's been quite a shock for her. She was so looking forward to seeing her kids again but now she can't wait to get back to the sun.

I'm now. Having just bought Star Wars Galaxies to play online, not only do I find that someone has already nicked my name but the account key has also been registered already!

[Mog] Well, I just survived another round of w*rk ... the person who was supposed to train me some more didn't know as much as I did.
[Dylan] [moves Mog aside] And what's more, I supposedly don't have to worry about messing up, because it's AM radio, and no one listens to AM.

Hmmm... I might be wrong, but I think IIEM only serves beverages, no food...
IIEM, a - thanks...
And the weather continues to be odd - it's been so warm in Stockholm lately that spring is over almost before it has begun... meanwhile, they've had snow in the French Alps, and the temperature there this far in May has been colder than in February

Here all the spring happens at the same time - everything that could blossom does it right now and immediately and very fast. I am not too pleased with it. Then again, today we have relatively cold weather, only +20C.
IIEM, a blue java, please.

I've just discovered something. If you type '61 F in C' it does the conversion for you. Likewise, if you ask 'light year in miles?' it gives you the answer.
Stunning.
IIEM, I'd like a hot black chai, please.

Quite true, Hati, at least down my way. It was -2C this morning when I was waiting for the bus. For the first time this year I had to wear a scarf, gloves and boots.

I was just about to say something like that, Hati - yesterday the temperature dropped drastically during the day, with a very ice-cold eastern wind - and this morning we only had +7ºC (45ºF) - and the landlord has turned off the heating due to the warm weather...
IIEM, a - thanks... *sips her vanilla latte, noticing that the café is now getting dangerously close to its 1000th post*
