Outside the café the mornings have turned frosty and the evenings chilly. The leaves on the trees are gradually turning into a brightly coloured pattern of yellow, orange and red.
Inside the café, with its heavy velvet curtains and tables and chairs spread around, it's warm and cosy. The pianola is waiting in silence and the Deep Purple sofa is residing in all its glory and comfort in front of the fire place, where a merrily crackling fire is spreading warmth.
The much feared (and rightly so!) cleaning bot has been successfully returned to the closet, the door carefully locked. The bot has left the café looking all shiny and clean.
IIEM (the Infinite Improbability Espresso Machine) has learnt how to talk, and if you ask it nicely it'll serve you any hot or cold, caffinated, decaffinated, or anti-caffinated drink of your choice - as long as it doesn't contain alcohol.
On the counter you'll find a tray of freshly baked and still warm chocolate muffins.
You might occasionally catch a glimpse of something blue in the rafters - that'd be Ook the blue orangutang who is, I'm sure, happy to beat you in scrabbles any day!
