Is HHiking generally safe and common where your summer house is? In the State's it's concidered dangerous, and isn't too common.

I live in a relatively smaal country so it is possible to HH cross it in one day. I have been HHing around for more than 20 years so it must be safe. I have been in some sort of a danger twice during those years.
Now I am not too young nor too pretty so I feel quite safe. All I can be afraid of is traffic accidents but those happen with smiley - bus too. smiley - tongueout
And actually I wasn't at the RL summerhouse. The summerhouse is in a quite deserted place and it's not easy to HH there. Exept in summer. smiley - smiley
My mother used to worry when I went HHing. Now she is used to it. She even doesn't ask me to call her when I am there. So it must be quite safe. smiley - winkeye

Well it makes sense that you wouldn't want a daughter who was YOUNGER than you were when you started HHing to start HHing now.

[Mog] I haven't hitchhiked ever!

[Kumama] Kupo kupokupo kupo!

[Subtitle: "And you call yourself a hitchhiker!"]

[Mog] No I don't.

[Kumama] Kupo?

[Subtitle: "You don't?"]

[Mog] No.

[Another moogle rushes in and shows Mog a television prompter.]

[Mog] Oh dear. Excuse me a moment ...

[Exit Mog and other moogle. Enter Mog]

[Mog] There. Sorry, I was needed in another thread. smiley - winkeye

I've never HHed myself, but I do like hanging out with genuine HHers I meet in coffee shops. Met a guy from North Carolina who'd hitched all the way to Arizona just to see Sedona, because of it's spiritual reputation. He and I jammed out in a coffee house, and hung out for a while. I see him around, ocassionally. I think the world is his oyster.
