Zodiac?

Astrology 101 type question for you. (Thank god I found someone who might know what I'm talking about - I've been driving people nuts elsewhere asking this question)
The observable cosmic cycles are the only true measures of time. The earths rotation is a day, the moon circles the earth once a 'month' 13 times a year (earth around the sun) and the star systems rotate every 24,000 years around our solar system, every two thousand years a new constellation of the Zodiac is dominant.
What is the 2000 year period of time called? Is it epoch, era, eon or something else? Popularly they are referred to as Ages. The Age of Pisces (fish - the Christian symbol) has come to an end and all the fish are gone. Now we have entered the Age of Aquarius (somewhere around 1967 as I recall) and the oceans are re-generating something new.
I keep asking this question whenever I see a pedants' conversation trying fix a date for the Millennium - poo, bah, humbug - Millennium is such an arbitrary man made notion, a post Descartian, post Metric 10x10x10 fancy number thing from the minds of ten fingered men but it has nothing to do with Time or cosmic reality. It's as preposterous as the twelve month year.

Hi Zodiac
I just registered and haven't much of a clue as to why I'm here or what's happening other than it is a thundery day. So in an exploration of *Muses* I found this interesting stop and am exploring.
Your post is the first I've stumbled across and though it was sometime ago you asked......thought I might suggest a good book (now don't be put off by the title): _Gospel of the Stars_ by Peter Lemesurier; first published & printed in Great Britain, Compton Press Ltd., The Old Brewery, Tisbury, Wiltshire.
The book is about your question and uses the 'Cosmic Clock' to give some interesting observations. Another good book on 'Time' of course is _Alice_.
Now, where I am from in the Zodiac is Cygnus X-1 (13 dg Aqua.)and I have had some really exceptional moments in time. Also, pleased to share moments on thundery or otherwise quiet days.
