my first ever boss taught me a very valuable lesson:
a double shot of OP rum taken in one gulp will stop your nose running for a number of hours
I assume you could substitute most hard spirits with equal effect

As far as i can remember Proof is a measure of the alcohol content. I don't know why but basically the proof of a spirit is double the alcohol. For something to be OP it would need to be 100% proof (50% alcohol). UP would be anything less than that.
