I do, but I think you need to say that what made Lewis's work special was that he took the arguements of morality beyond the morality of his faith (or any other) and argued that morality was an issue of itself.
I think of this when I hear people say that they personally wouldn't condone, such and such, but they are unable to force their opinion on others, yet some aspects of morality are universal, with perhaps mercy being the most obvious.

I think you are right - In the annex he has a long list and analysis of many cultures (not just his particular faith) having very similar values across the ages - I was looking at this just yesterday when the book came up in another conversation - funny you should pick up on the same issue the next day! halloween spooky .

Very nice piece, Pilgrim. I think it's succinct, clear, and very tight. If I were to suggest anything at all, I might recommend that you put Lewis' dates in parenthesis after the first citation of his name. I am one of those people who find that dates help put the the subject into context.

It's a good Entry, pilgrim.
A few little House Style changes:
29 November 1898 – 22 November 1963
According to the House Style, you must add commas after the months so that it looks like this:
29 November, 1898 – 22 November, 1963
Links in the text don't appear to some users (the mobile phone PDA lot), so you should design your entry so that it is still readable if the links are not visible. The second footnote:
"This site offers you the text of The Abolition of Man"
would look odd if you couldn't see the link. You should reword it as:
"The text of The Abolition of Man is available on-line."
Use British English spellings:
mobilizing --> mobilising
Greco-Roman --> Graeco-Roman
Judeo-Christian --> Judaeo-Christian
General:
at expense of --> at the expense of
Well read what Lewis -- add a comma after Well
Lewis was an admirer of the work of GK Chesterton, on the issue -- change the comma after Chesterton into a semicolon

Thanks GnomeOn - I admire your attention for detail. Of course I could complain that my English Teachers had their education at the time Lewis was critical of the teaching establishment, hence the lack of attention to grammar. But I think I am a bit lazy when editing my own material.
Changes Done.
