PP: review of the season

smiley - football Bubba-fretts took a stranglehold on the competition just before Christmas, and his rock-solid defence never let got. He is rightly crowned champion, with a record PP points tally. Real life managerial equivalent: Sir Alex Ferguson smiley - bubblysmiley - bubbly

smiley - football Sprout is rapidly becoming the quality manager to beat in this competition after finishes of 2nd, 1st and 2nd successively. He held off some very strong challenge from Rich and MT. RLME: Arsene Wenger.

smiley - football Skankyrich bolstered his team well through the season, and reaped a well-deserved third with solid performances throughout the team. RLME: Martin Jol

smiley - football After a lightning start, MT faltered as his star players stopped producing the goods. He looked a little bit lost and slid down the table. Finished the season on a high, though, with a joint weekly top. RLME: Rafa Benitez

smiley - football A plucky Celt with lots of ambition, DD dragged his team up and down the table all year, finishing on a high with a joint weekly top and fifth place. RLME: David Moyes.

smiley - football Andy G had massive mid-season, in which his team rocketed up the table to safety. Suspect at the back, but possessed some real goal-scorers. RLME: Gareth Southgate.

smiley - football Megachedda took hold of a thankless team and beat them up the table in one of the season's surprise packages. RLME: Harry Redknapp.

smiley - football Magwitch suffered early season from lack of point-scoring and lack of flair in her team, due - yet again - to some bizarre selections. RLME: Mark Hughes.

smiley - football Egon had no answer to several of his big names going astray and never looked in danger of winning very much this season. A disappointment. RLME: Glen Roeder.

smiley - football Nirvanite surprised everyone with a fast start, but as the season wore on, it was clear he was just reliant on a lucky goalkeeper and he started to flounder. RLME: Stuart Pearce.

smiley - football Psycorp very nearly came back to win his fiver on the last day, finishing just two points shy of safety. Suffered from lack of security at the back, which meant a low league position. RLME: Paul Jewell.

smiley - football McKay spent the whole season dobbling about at the bottom without troubling the scorers. RLME: Les Reed.

smiley - football GreyDesk finished 3rd from bottom, which is a position he should be used to. Spent his time in charge looking slightly lost and watching a team fall to bits around his ears. RLME: Sammy Lee.

smiley - football Trin was lucky not to finish bottom after a ghastly end to the season. He had a one-man team before Christmas, which became a no-man team in January. Haemmorhaged goals at an alarming rate in the run-in. RLME: Chris Coleman/Lawrie Sanchez.

smiley - football SBE spent most of the season glued to the bottom with a team of no-hopers and a comically bad front 6. RLME: Adie Boothroyd.

I might do some end-of-season statistics later if I feel so inclined.

Congratulations Bubba smiley - bubbly

Thanks very much for organising the whole thing, B smiley - ok

I'm now launching legal proceedings against everybody. My lawyers will be in touch smiley - cross

The only crumb of comfort I had for the majority of the season was having been predicted second from bottom and clinging stubbornly to third from bottom. And then...

Well... just spooky smiley - erm

Can I suggest that next season you actually purchase defenders who are likely to play, in that case?
