From the Dune series by Frank Herbert, yes?

Sort of. Thats what he referring to. Not sure prescisiely were it comes from because in the film Paul says it when addressing the fremen warriors before they go out to fight the sardaukar

Hmm... the film? The film is a little... lackluster compared to the book.

true, but to the directors credit he admitted it himself, and went and filmed a TV series in an attempt to do the book justice.
Have you read Prelude to Dune?

I admit, the tv series is better (the one that has Dune Messiah and Children of Dune?). I haven't read the prelude. Isn't it written by Frank Herbert's son?

Yeah, and Kevin J anderson as well. Its a flipping good read. They based it, along with the Legends of DUne, and the upcoming Dune 7 on Frank Herbert's notes

Hmm... maybe I should give it a read.

you should. The Legends of Dune is alright but it did tend to drag on at times.

Interesting fact, Did you know that Tio Holtzman did NOT invent the foldspace generators?

The who and the what?

The mathematician Tio Holtzman, in each and every dune book is credited with the invention of the Holtzman Foldspace generators which carry guild Heighliners into foldspace and back into realspace afterwards.

Ah.

And yet, in the Legends of dune series, which is set at the same time as the butlerian Jihad, they specifically say that it was Holtzman's apprentice who invented the generators

Well, since Frank Herbert is the original creator of Dune I think I'm going to stick with his version.

it was. I believe that it was his notes about the subject that gave them the idea. I might be wrong though.
