I ran from Irak, and never looked back! Horse meat is one of the best meats you can eat, ostrich is also neat!

I actually tend to agree with them. A public forum should be temporarily moderated if it could pose a risk. There are other places to post and exchange ideas if one feels an overwhelming need. It's not like they are gone forever.

I was on the "iraq" thread since last summer and there have been heated disscusions,personal remarks,some good points and some bad points and some with no point at all. A lot of dissagreement with the US goverment/policy and bleed over comments about american citizens. Closed minds and open ones a few rude people a few nice people. Angry people,scared people and confused people. All reacting to the fearfull uncertain times we live in. 'such is life'
What I think finally closed the site where a few researchers crossing the line and making statements of expressing or inciting harm befalling politicions and people they disgreed with.
Also the deliberate mocking of other religion.
These type of actions could lead to severe consequences in the real world. I really believe these comments were a large cause in the bbc's decision.

Della I made a tongue and cheek remark back several months ago. It was not meant to insult anyone or their religion. I was trying to make a point. It was misunderstood by some. This happens when the only medium is text. I have and will again apologise to any who took offense. It was not my intent to offend. Mea Culpa

This is a good example of text being misunderstood. The statement refering to whether you believe in assassination in context with american presidents: Of *course* I am not. Could be misunderstood due to the way you wrote {*course*}
It is only my knowing your past posts that I can conclude that you are not advocating assassination.

>>Of *course* I am not. Could be misunderstood due to the way you wrote {*course*}<<
Call me thick (go on, I dare you) but I don't understand why the way I put 'of course' could have been misunderstood!

God being an iron, it looks like irony.

When you say: not that I am advocating assassination! Of *course* I am not!>
the use of * around course could be taken as ironic as zoomer observed. Changing the meaning of the sentence to opposite.
This is the problems with text. I know I have at times come across as harsher then I have meant to. { not claiming to be nice however }
However even though we rarely see eye to eye on anything I do respect you. In fact I enjoy the banter and do not take the taunts to heart and hope you do not. Our prior conversations allow me to know you would not really endorse assasination. Ok I just used up a weeks worth of nice here! Back to normal.
Now about being thick........
