We don't seem to have taken any more casualties over night.
A pity the same can't be said for World Peace

"Frogbit..if you'll notice, I never said this was the end...just that this war will be over soon. We still have folks with your childlike, innocent mentality to overcome."
Childlike and innocent. I'm touched. Though you say it like it was a *bad* thing.

I would just like to point out that the first post of this conversation was August 5th.
That's...lemme count...that's 7 months! They've been talking about war for seven months! Holy geraniums in a pot...I am kind of glad they'll finally actually declare war now because this "one step closer to war" for the past 7 months has meant something like over 182 steps for a war that will probably be over in a month if not less.

Cook's resignation on moral principles I have some respect for. On the other hand this creep Peter Hain is using the whole thing to beef up his own influence in the party

He bangs on about "redistribution of wealth and income" but he's just trying to push himself forward.

You do realise Europeep, that you are not allowed to discuss 'that event that cannot be named' as decreed by the BBC in their infinite wisdom...

Europeep Posted Mar 18, 2003
I didn't realise but that can start a whole other topic...censorship that evil icky thing.
why can't we discuss that?
I know why it should be...it's been discussed for FAR TOO LONG!

Hello all,
We would appreciate your co-operation with our Conflict in Iraq policy. If you continue to post to this thread we will have no option but to get rid of it completely.
To reiterate the policy:
This conversation is now closed. This is because all conversations on the subject of the conflict are now being hosted by BBC News on The Great Debate messageboard at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/cgi-perl/h2/h2.cgi?x=y&board=greatdebate. Please feel free to post your comments there. You can see the announcement about the implementation of this policy at A639056
During the current international situation it's very important that we are all aware of the sensitivities of others. It's therefore important that community members post in a polite manner and are *always* respectful of others. Postings or Entries may also be removed if it is felt that they may inflame the current situation in some way, may compromise the welfare of others, or may contain a quote from an unverified source.
You can read our guidelines regarding the current conflict at A735275.
Thanks very much,
Natalie

May i ask a question. I signed up for the great debate but could not find this thread. I did try posting to one of the many topics but was told it was closed.
Is it possible to coordenate here to open one thread on the great debate for those here who wish to continue?
Are there certain post hours?
thank you

GreyDesk Posted Mar 18, 2003
Natalie, where abouts are we supposed to post during the hours that the 'Great Debate' is closed?

Ross Posted Mar 18, 2003
why do I have to log onto TGD?
Why isnt there an obvious conversation for this topic on TGD?
Are the BBC just stifling free speech?

Henry Posted Mar 18, 2003
Why no warning Natalie? Was this policy implemented suddenly, or were you waiting for an anouncement before implementation?
I'm readin DNA's collected works 'The Salmon of Doubt' at the moment, and though I never met the man, I have a deep feeling that he would distressed to hear that people using his site were having conditions applied to their freedom of speech; that they were in fact completely discouraged from mentioning a very important matter of global concern; that the people running the site were threatening to erradicate a thread that has been running for seven months. And not just that, but are threatening to erase any new threads started on the subject. Also, am I alone in not having recieved emails explaining why some of my posts have been removed?
Look, I'm sorry if your immediate superiors are applying unavoidable pressure on you, but in the sprirt of free speach, I think I'll publish and be damned. And if this thread disappears, then we'll all know where we stand, won't we?
Frogbit.

If it keeps it up you can't moderate this forever. Take out this thread and someone will start a new one. Face it, it's a losing battle
