>>Illegible huh?<<
Only illegible if you cannot understand plain English or you have your computer mis-configurerd so that it is displaying a charachter set other than standard ASCII.

They *did* mention Rachael Corrie, and the bulldozer burying her, at the end of the bulletin. I did NOT expect that!

So we're all just what? Walking away from this thread because we're told to? Because otherwise they're going to pull the plug on us?
Come on people, who needs dictators when we just do as we're told anyway? I'm not suggesting that the towers are dictators - but we *are* being dictated to "Do this or else" and our reaction is?
We may not all agree on this thread, but one thing we do agree on is that the freedom of speach is important. We're most vociferous when it comes to the freedom of others, but essentially as soon as we're requested to shut up or face the consequnces, we meekly capitulate and leave messages of condolence for the thread.
Pretty spineless. We didn't even take it to the wire and see what happened.

I agree with you anhaga, economic sanctions would be a *great* idea! I have written to our Prime Monster, and I think it's a time for another one...

ASII huh? Well, that must be it because it's coming out all garbled now like a gerbil typed it or something, but keep trying, Stuart. I know I'll read you eventually, even if it's only because of random sensations suddenly coming together into a complete thought purely by chance. Good luck! I cheering for you, Stuart, I really am!! AAYYY!!!

Re radio here, it's all cheer-leading for Bush - NZ is the 53rd state.

Maybe there needs to be hosting in another country. Mine's not at war and we have 'freedom of expression'.

Perhaps if we all write to the BBC (preferably on paper rather than by email) complaining about this de facto censorship it might have an impact?

Hey, Della:
the usual ratio I've heard of what an elected official perceives is something like, one e-mail represents 10 voters; one letter represents a hundred; one phone call represents a thousand.

Because they say they might use tactical nukes and we don't have any reason to disbelieve them. Does this website run on pessimism? No, but this site attracts well-read, seemingly well-educated individuals, and we've read some history. We've seen how US interventions have gone in the past 100 years, and we've seen how the deaths of civilians are brushed off and glossed over by the US government as recently as Afghanistan.

If you use ASII its bound to be garbled while the rest of the English speaking world is using ASCII. Perhaps gerbils can type better than you can Analiese!
