Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me!

Dudes,

I can't believe I haven't come across this place before.

I want in and I want in NOW smiley - biggrin

As far as I'm aware, I'm the only H2G2 researcher in a working band, although would be happy to be proved wrong.

So that kinda makes me just the kind of person you're looking for.

Check out www.strangers.org.uk for my credentials....

Hiya Bassman smiley - evilgrin guess who got visitor 3342? Sorry to disappoint you, you're not the only member in a working band, although it's a duo, not in our favourite genre and gigging only sporadically at the moment smiley - evilgrin

Subscribe myself to the page ????

How do I do that?

Granny Ww, I'm a real snob musically, I'm not sure if I'd call a 2-piece a band - especially if you do the backing track thing!

Playing at the RED LION in WITNEY tomorrow 4/6/05 just in case anyone who can make it reads this....

smiley - rofl S'funny, when I first met Grandad he had exactly the same opinion of covers bands smiley - rofl

I take your point about duos though smiley - cheers but after so many years of dealing with psychotic drummers, substance abusing sax players and substandard, egotistical bass players (there's not a lot of good ones about as you'll know), when we needed to get something on the road quickly to supplement our income, a duo was the best bet. We use a mixture of backing tracks & live guitar & vocals, with some acoustic stuff thrown in to show that we 'can' play smiley - winkeye; and nobody whines for chips in the van on the way home smiley - smiley

However, last time I spoke to me[Andy]g, U169062 he was in a working band and although he's not been about too much recently, (busy with the day job) threesecondmemory U148091 is the drummer in a cracking band called minusoneraver who gig a lot.

Go check out the gig list at our web site www.strangers.org.uk for the next time we're playing there. If you let me know in advance, I'll get you on the guest list, so you won't have to pay the entrance fee.

Oh, almost forgot - Witney - near Oxford!!
