The answer 42 can mean anything that you want it to mean there is no true question. 42 is a symbol for life because whatever you want the question to be ar what you think that 42 stands for is the most important thing for you in life and the universe.
Now thats Deep

Ask yourself this:
What is six times nine?
What is that answer in base 13?

There is no answer to life, the universe and everything. The question has not even been asked. It has no relevance. The main problem with us humans is that our central aim in life is to deconstruct our existence to the point where we're picking over bare bones. What we should be doing is living our lives, rather than eternally pontificating and procrastinating about them. If all you want to do is find out the point to your existence, I have a little exercise for you. Stand still and quiet for a moment. Now, listen. What can you hear? That's right...it's you breathing! That's the point to your life. Well, you'd be stuffed without it, wouldn't you?

What are you doing?
We don't need a new forum, just a new thread - it only loads one thread at a time, so we can just start a new conversation on the same page.
This way it
(a) is still on a correctly referenced page
(b) on the same page as all the other discussion on the subject
(c) is easy for people that want to join in the conversation to read what's been said before!

Smiley Ben Posted Jul 5, 1999

I think that if Deep Thought was really pulling our legs, we'd know it. They wouldn't be there anymore.

Yes, ouch. It would hurt. The sensation of muscle being ripped & torn gradually & slowly from bone; and bone from socket is never plesant. It should generally be avoided at all costs. Also, avoid dogs today. They are trouble. Trust me.

Smiley Ben Posted Jul 6, 1999
Actually.... when you put it like that... it sounds almost... exciting!

Exciting, is it? If exciting, then enticing? You enjoy such sadistic sport as massochism? Mayhaps I should consult the guide about meeting people such as yourself. Avoid or converse...Who's to say? 42,42,42 is black & blue.... 42 rhymes with...eat-my-shoe, gras-de-coup, I-have-flu, doodle-doo... I wonder if there's some cosmic relationship in there somewhere.. Perhaps we should consult deep thought. Hmmm..

Hello Hello Hello,
What are you doing on the corner there. I hope it's not anything illegal I hope. Especially since you look like a nice fellow, I wonuldn't want to have to take you in and throw the book at you. Considering it's a bloody heavy book, and I got a hernia from trying to pick it up last time.
Key: Complain about this post
