Welcome one and all to this week's edition of the Post.

Shazz is taking a well earned break this week, at least she says that she's earned it and who are we to disagree? So it's fallen to us mere mortals to bring this week's edition to you.

This week is slightly different from normal as we are currently implementing a few structural changes in how we bring the contents to you. Firstly you may notice that there is less content than you may have grown used to. This is only temporary I can assure you but we are looking for more writers. What we want is YOU, you'll just have to imagine that picture with the bloke pointing at you. We want you all to write for us. After all one of the reasons that the Post was started was to act as a community newspaper for the ever growing h2g2 community.

The community is huge, well over 30,000 members now, and growing everyday. But h2g2 is also huge. Finding your way around can seem a little daunting at first, thankfully the ACEs are here now to help guide us all in our inevitable faltering first steps. We all settle in and find our
way around, but still we hardly touch the tip of the iceberg.

This is where we hope that the Post helps us all. It can act as a centre point, a sort of hyperlink junction to all that is currently happening within h2g2. But to manage that we need each and every one of us to point out the good bits. So if you find something that tickles your fancy then drop us a line by emailing
[email protected] so we can tell everyone.

We also need people who can write articles every week, so if you have a little spare time that you'd like to give up to browse h2g2 and look for interesting things, and let's face it that's not hard, then get in touch.

But please try to remember that the Post is a completely voluntary thing. We're not employed by the Towers, but are willing to accept job offers, we are all just humble researchers trying to help others.

With Valentines Day only a week away you've probably noticed that all the card shops have turned red and that we've had a nice big picture across the top of our front page. So what's it all about? Our picture not Valentines day, well we're giving you the chance
to let someone know that you care about them. Simple follow this link to our
Valentine Message
form, fill it out and by the wonders of modern technology we'll receive your message to be place in next weeks edition of the Post. And in the true style of Valentines, it's all completely anonymous. We will have now idea of who you are, so
don't worry about all these black mail ideas that we have. So go on, say it with ASCII.

But the main thing this week is the introduction of our News Journal. Using the Journal feature of all our homepages to bring you a daily round up of the news that is happening around the globe. Hypoman has stepped up to run this aspect of the Post and I for one wish him luck. The thing with h2g2 is it is global, we are all spread far and wide. So to truely make this work he needs us all to send him the view of news from our own parts of the globe.

  • Agony Aunt

  • h2g2 is not a 'normal' community, it doesn't have 'normal' problems, therefore a 'normal' Agony Aunt would be useless. Ours is far from 'normal'.

  • Wowbagger

  • As we now meet our Virtual Mayor, and especially after last weeks photo of her, our resident
    cartoonist couldn't resist.

  • h2g2 Life

  • Third installment, a new meaning to interactive computing.

  • A Great Save

  • A close encounter of the 'meeting a testosterone filled idiot' kind.

  • The Think Tank

  • A central point to exchange ideas on articles. Whether you're
writing a future Guide entry and want some help with spelling, grammar
or content, or you have a few moments to spare and wish to proof read
for a fellow researcher, this is the place.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
