Dancing Ermine

Someone's hit the nail on the head there.

Actually Igor in Thief of Time is a completely different Igor again. It's another of the Susan books with Lu Tse (the quiet guy with bonsai mountains from Small Gods) and the other history monks thrown in too.

Also witches (or more specifically A witch) features prominently in the plotline - I read it once, thought he was losing his touch, then left it a month and re-read it and LOVED it!

I wonder why that happened?

Because I got into Pratchett rather later than most people (discovered him at the end of my uni degree) I have got about half my collection in pb (also was probably much cheaper considering my bank balance then), and started collecting the hardcovers from Masquerade. I'd like to go back and get earlier copies in hardback, but I suppose they'd be collectors by now...

*looks wistful*

I'm lucky I can justify the expense, as my husband (who normaly frowns on frivolous spending) also can't wait to get his hands on the latest copy, so it's always hardcover! Yay!

It' good to read 'em all in order, but I did it differently: Do all the Rincewind + Wizard books, all the Watch books, all the Witches books, all the books that have characters we never hear about again (e.g. Vorbis- Small Gods). Prattchy does explore, but by reading the books in order you explore in the same way that he does: bit by bit. Keep reading 'em.

dont think its possible 2 stop readin em once u've started. they have some kind of strange attractive force that keeps u hooked so u cant wait 2 buy the newest 1 2 find out what happens (& keeps u re-readin em while u wait!) smiley - smiley

Yeah. You gonna do it or am I?. 'Does Pratchett explore the Discworld enough' lacks a certain flair as a fan club name. But we have a good convo started (BTW that was a rhetorical question at the start, I'm just about to do it unless you've already done it).My brain is happier now, and has said he'll come back to me on the condition that I give him more respect and flood him with garbage and comedy.

I use that word knowing that it is possible that Pratchett thinks that 'cool' is used by people whose brains wouls not fill a teaspoon. Mine escaped recently, so I can say that his is a fairly accurate description.
