Now some folk would prefer a cat, (1)

He'd just cooked his goose(1)

Then went out to play fast and loose (2)

He called on his good friend the rat, (3)

They stopped for a chat, (4)

Then made their way back to the "hoose" (5)

(they were near Glasgow, and that rhyme was just begging to be killed!!!)

Usual greeting was 'Hello Sailor.'(2)
