How about mentioning Rome, Naples, Sorrento and Capri there are things to do in those places in Italy. Italy doesn't consist of just Venice. Anyway just a passing thought and if h2g2 is thinking about starting articles on any of these places i am very willing to help I have had experience of thoselaces twice now.

but they're quite old in EG terms... I reckon if they were submitted to </.>PeerReview</.> today, we'd say yes, very good, like it so far, but can you tell us any more?

Visited Venice for the third time last October and took three members of my family who hadn't been before. They were all delighted, even managed to find a couple of good restaurants!

I think the best deals are; the waterbus, get a pass that will allow you to jump on and off anywhere.
Get hold of a Time Out guide, found that to be the best one.
Take a free water taxi to the glass works at Murano. Don't buy anything of course (too expensive) but you can have a wander round the island. The touts will offer you a ticket at one of the main bus stops near StMarks (you'll have to get a bus back).

I hope to take my partner back there this year in October to see all the things I missed the last time.
