Hi. I'm F, writing on behalf of french bean. She has come down with a big infection in a neck gland. She is in bed with an enlarged neck. The doctor has given drugs but they are not working yet. She says not to worry, but please send healing thoughts.

It's a matter of semantics, Gosho. Positive thoughts, whether we hold them for ourselves or others, are always good. I've seen a lot of examples of people who expect the worst finding it and people who are positive all the time having a seemingly steady stream of good luck.
I also have first hand knowledge of a person, a cousin, who was healed after a prayer service. And it wasn't something that could have been psychosomatic. He was hit in the face with a baseball bat. Had a broken jaw. I saw the x-rays taken the day of the accident. It happened on a Sunday afternoon. Surgery to wire the jaw was scheduled for Monday. Sunday evening some members of his church went to the hospital and held a prayer service. On Monday he said his jaw felt fine. They took new x-rays and there was no break.
I do not assert that he was healed by some supernatural being. That could be what happened, if such things as supernatural beings actually do exsist. Or he could have been so convinced that it would work that his mind triggered something in his body and he healed himself. All I know is that his jaw was broken one day and it wasn't the next. I do believe that our minds and bodies are capable of some pretty amazing things under the right circumstances. And that we can attract both good and bad fortune by our attitudes.

Dear Hypatia,
What an extraordinary tale. I really do believe that such things happen.
My mother was pronounced dead in May 1940. She had TB. and had just had an gigantic haemorhage. My father came to me in tears. I was 11 years old saying "EllE est morte. Elle est morte". The Bishop who had come to give her the Last Sacraments, came to me and told me that as I was the eldest I should now be the "oroxy" mother to my siblings.
She actually died in 1996. Having lived as an invalid for the first four years after her "death" when my father gave up everything and took us all lock stock and barrel to the Karroo which has a very dry climate, supposedly good for tuberculotics, and after that she just lived a noraml. but privileged life as she always had help.
it is extraordinary.
With affection
~Christiane

Dearest FB,
I hope that your friend F is near you and is able to convey messages to you. You must get a good diagnosis. that is the most important thing. then only can it be treated successfully. I hope that you have had it and that you are getting the right medication.
With many loving thoughts for your speedy recovery.
Christiane and Keith.

Since Christchurch is directly opposite the north coast of Spain on the globe, I'm going to send my healing thoughts northnorthwest; that should be the shortest route.

Very dear Fb.
I am off to bed now, and hope that the temp has gone and that you are feeling comfortable.
If I have not heard from you tomorrow I shall try and rustle up a telephone number and phone you. I am worried about you.
With very much affection
Christiane. and Keith.

I think it's time we had a medical update. This is not one of those occasions when no news is good news.
