Universal Granny Posted Mar 15, 2005
I am here, Smurfles!! I have just had one heck of a fortnight helping at two grandsons' birthday parties (one was 3 and one was 4, within a week of each other), and now the eldest two have gone down with a tummy bug and are feeling very sorry for themselves, so I have been babysitting them on and off so that their Mum can get out and about for shopping etc. etc.
Farawaylady - how could I have missed you off my list - of course I miss you too. I was so pleased to read your news, and that you are making the best of life.
And Smudger, and Mystrunner - I am so pleased to see you all, you really have cheered me up. I will pop into your pages over the next couple of weeks and catch up with you all individually.
Have to go now, the night is drawing to an end, and the day staff are coming in - always a hectic time.
Take care, all of you, UG

Hi Smudger, I read all your poems and liked them very much. I admired the different styles and especially liked "Homward Bound" for its simple yet great verses. I am not through your snippets yet, but the ones I have read so far are very interesting. I have quite a number of those too, but did not really know how to call them.
I do think it is important that we write about our lives, what we experience, what we feel. I myself have volumes of diaries. Maybe nobody will ever read them, maybe somebody might learn something from them or even find them good writing and interesting. The important thing is, though, that we who write get the good and sad things off our chests and feel better. Maybe, when we are not here any more, we'll live on with our words. Nowadays we also know that writing is good for our brains and helps us not to age too soon. Three cheers for all of us who feel the urge to write.
Have you read the epic on my page? I'll try and copy my poems this week, but I think they are not as good as yours. Love, F and of course, greetings to your wife!

Hi There F Thanks for that, its good to get feed back over things youve written
I really wish that I had kept a diary now
especially during the early years of my life. I did used to write one, but gave it up
You coud be able to read back over your diarys now, and write a stack of short stories around them That would be great reading!!
I did visit your page, but never saw any poetry? Now I know why.
All of my poems are from past life experiences, and the reason Ive not written any for years is that to be honest, Mk2 and I have not had any good luck ever since we met
In fact the opposite! yet we have been through so many hard times that would have probably split up most cpuples!
Just little things, ranging from death threats, financial ruin, family bust-ups, domestic nightmares....the list goes on
Anyway, I look forward to reading more your writings soon
Smudger,

Hi UG. I am soo glad you are still around too. Though I know very little about all of you, I consider you friends and love to pop in on all your conversations. Living here where people are rather superficial and don't have (or use?) much humour and hardly ever can laugh about themselves, it is like an infusion of how real life is When I read you and the others. Thanks for being there and all the best to you! Today I saw my eights grandson. He is lovely and it is a great feeling to see that life goes on and that maybe he will be very much like myself one day. Love, F.

As long as you never sneaked in on the back of a lorry, we will let you off
We have enough probs on here to handle as it is, bringing humour back into fashion is hard going
