Asking a favour

There's a few places that make clear-toy candy around here - very small operations, nothing as elaborate as what Gosho was describing. I've even made some clear-toy candy a couple of times.

Aren't there any simpler boiled sweets that
you *could* make in your kitchen, Gosho?

Where did you work as a sugar boiler, Gosho?
The only sweet factory I can think of in North London is that one behind the North Middlesex Hospital...
Incidentally, here is a link to the best on-line old-fashioned sweet shop that I know - http://www.aquarterof.co.uk/

I'll check out the link when I get home from work
I worked in two sweet factories in London - the first I ever worked in (at Hainault), and the last (in Plaistow). The other two were in Lancashire - Ashton-under-Lyne and Accrington.

There used to be a chocolate factory (either
Necco or Hershey) on Massachusetts Avenue
in Cambridge. I used to walk from Mass. Institute
of technology to Harvard Univ., and I would pause
in front of the factory to smell the chocolate.

I used to enjoy taking great lungfuls of the air whenever I walked past the (now defunct) the Trebor Mint factory on Katherine Road in Upton Park
Altogether now
Trebor mints are a minty bit stronger...
Stick 'em up yer bum and they last a bit longer

It would have to be simplified a *lot* - there are too many shapes in there. Even 'Life, the universe' and everything' is too many letters for lettered rock

Okay, then how about a two-letter
message: Alpha and Omega (using the
Greek symbols for the first and last
letters of the Greek alphabet).
"Everything" would be what was between the two.
