How cool is this?
Posted Apr 26, 2005
Well, we're now back from Chicago. But on our last day there, we stopped by the mall I hung out at growing up -- and how cool is this?

We SO did not have anything like that when I was there, but I definitely want one for my very own.

Kat and I landed safely in Chicago, and are off to Barton and Candy's for dinner and slothing.

Did everyone else already know that Mozilla has an h2g2 widget for it's search bar?
Posted Apr 4, 2005
I discover these things randomly, and I wonder how it is I'd never known it was there before. This rocks!
For the others out there who didn't know, if you go to http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html and look up h2g2 on "install search engines", there it is. Of course, they have the wikipedia widget listed on the front page, but that appears to be because people download it more often. Go move us up the list!

Opera practice at the office?
Posted Mar 30, 2005
One of the secretaries here at the office is a struggling opera singer in her real life. She really is fantastic, and many of us here have been to her concerts.
Much of her work is of the relatively mundane sort - spending a lot of time at the copier or the shredder, for example. While she's waiting for these machines to finish their business, she practices her music. Is it awful of me to be annoyed by this sometimes? I'm the only one with an office close enough to really hear.
It's not that I have anything against opera music - I quite like much of it, in fact. But hearing someone *sight read* and *practice* is entirely different.
So I hook up my iPod to my computer speakers, and play some Springsteen or something - but if I played it loud enough to actually drown out the opera, then I'd be being rude.
Thoughts?
