Huh? I Poet?

I like all kinds of music, just about... I'm not overly into hiphop but I think what eminem has that other white rappers didn't have is heart. Others were mostly commercial (can you say Vanilla Ice? Ice Ice Baby... ) and eminem seems to have a better grasp on the genre..

a wise old man once told me "i love every kind of serious music". i learned from him. he was a magnificent jazz musician.

Ooh! Jazz is one of my favorites... when I lived in NYC one of the city's best jazz clubs with live local talent was just around the corner from my flat...

93rd? that's way up north, init?
ever heard of a danish boheme/aristocrat/writer called timme rosenkrantz? he went to NYC in the thirties and met all the great jazz artists of that time. even lived in harlem for a while. wrote a great little book about it. don't know if it was ever published in english.

The name sounds familiar but that's where it ends... actually 93rd is only the Upper West Side so it's not what's considered 'uptown' really... the club is on Broadway between 92nd/93rd, which made it perfect 'stumbling distance' for me..

i see
if you are interested in jazz and ever get the chance to read timmes book you should. it's informative and entertaining, but most of all it hilariously funny

I'll keep that in mind.. though you may have to remind me of it when I finish with my testing and such... I haven't been able to pick up anything that's not a technical piece in what seems like an eternity...

Mine was alright. Went to see my mom & her new husband. Most of my brothers were there too, so there was a lot of PS2 involved. Oh, and we watched part of 'The Fellowship of the Rings' with the cast commentary.
