Not only do most of your users have Christmas pasrties to go to, but also any problems due to machines with incorrectly formatted dates (US style) don't show up until the 13th!

Giant steps are what you take...

Jonathon, the 12 year old Lesotho boy who guided us around at Malealea in Lesotho (and a photo of whom inspired the basotho hat grphic that I have at the top of the page) pointed at the moon which was fat and full low to the horizon and said "I it true that we went there?"
On Tuesday I will be in the audience at the Vista launch part in Croke park and the guest speaker is the man that made the answer "Yes" Neil Armstrong! How cool is that?
(Now if I could just get this stupid Sing song out of my head everything would be peachy)

New windows all round...
Posted Nov 18, 2006
My landlord arranged for new windows to be fitted during the week - every window in the entire house was replaces with fantastic double-glazing and new surrounds etc. The whole lot was accomplished in two days with minimum fuss.
In related news Microsoft has released the new version of Windows - Vista - to us nerds so I have been installing it on my development machines. Rather embarassingly it may take me more that the two days it too the real men to install the real windows

without words...
Posted Oct 20, 2006
"Thought you might like this. Japanese is a funny old language, and since it has fewer basic syllables than english, you get quite alot of words that sound the same but have wildly different meanings. I looked up a word which I heard on one of Emily's videos - dakko - and found the following meanings:
1. (child's) hug; carrying a baby in one's arms;
2. finishing writing; completion of a manuscript
3. anal prolapse
This was half an hour ago, and I've only just got myself together enough to write this mail..."
Background: this mail was sent by a school mate of mine who lives in Japan and Emily is his year old daughter.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
