Me too, but you do get used to it. It's a bit bright at forst, but I live in it now. And look- if you go to preferences than you can set it in Plain (but only when you;re in plain, of course)

Thanks I think it will be useful because the hospital I'm on placement on has the worlds slowest internet connection. I have been getting to like Alabaster recently!, I never thought that would happen.

I know! well at least I never got around to joining the classic Goo fan club, I'd have to hand back my membership and cause a flame war.

Y'orl roight out there, fellow Brummies? I'ts your founder speaking, Number One is alive & well, still in France & recovering from doing battle with France Telecom, their attempt to thwart my communication having failed (think they were a bit shocked by the Brummie approach, at least a few more people can now say "ye'r talkin ter me or chewin' a brick, mate?" in French.)
Off now to round you all up & give you numbers!
Ta-ra a bit, Terri.

Hello, number 2 -- glad to see you've been holding the fort while I've been battling the demons in the French telephone system!
My lists are alive & well, just added The other omylouse to the Brummies, the 1ST genuine hooter from BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA gets a SPECIAL PRIZE!!!
Book review still on the list (also featured under renew library books!)
What's the longest list of lists anyone can come up with?
Terri.

Hello!
I'm sort of a Brummie too! I'm a student at the university. Managed to have survived a year!

Hello, Saint Nessaja, you're up bright & early, as a consequence of this you've won the coveted Membership Number 7! Well done! Are you studying at the School of Dentistry in Brum city centre? I remember long ago all my mates went there to get "free teeth"; I didn't though, I'm one of those people you hate, who is petrified despite seeing ultra-nice kind dentists all over the world (but only when forced to out of sheer agony!) Any advice???
Terri.

7! My favourite number! How wonderful!
Yes I am indeed at the school of dentistry, quite nice to meet someone who knows where it is because none of the other university students have a clue. Does mean I have to get up stupidly early and have an arguement with the cross city line but I'm getting used to it.
Any advice? Probably best to ask me in a couple of years once I've worked out what I'm meant to be doing!
Nessaja

If no one has done I'm happy to create one AE (that's after exams, the 12th of december) but shouldn't we have a name first.. is it or maybe we should be Birmingham & Birmingham Users Society if we are admiting people from Birmingham Alabama? Or have I just on off on a very long tanget a long way away from the circle?

I'm usually on the normal so I wouldn't worry too hard...

I live on a perpendicular bisector to the tangent, about 5 miles up. Drop in if you want a cup of tea.

Ay-oop,VIP,ow yer doin?
I'd be delighted to host the Brummies page if someone can tell me how to go about doing it! It occurs to me that Orcus ought to be consulted though, since this whole thing seems to have started on his page.
Still merrily collecting names, numbering them & adding to my little lists (tee-hee; I do enjoy this sort of thing!) I'll try & spend today getting it all a bit more in order.
As for names, ideas etc. for now I'll just keep lurking around & make yet more lists with a view to voting for the favourites later ?
Terri.
