i am travelling!
Posted Mar 6, 2008
well, after much ado i am finally at my first destination in a long trip that will take 3 weeks and then bring me home to maui.
i'm in california now... specifically the monterey peninsula... specifically carmel (google image carmel beach ) for my high school reunion (girl's boarding school) and to make a commitment and close my storage unit and bring my stuff to maui...
one of my carry-ons was a cooler with 21 leis in it for my classmates !
then in a few days i am off to boston to my daughter's to enjoy them all... grandkids!!! and to help her organise her home
then cupla weeks later to dallas to visit oldest son and family for a few days...
then home again home again jiggety jig... and lo and behold lucky me i got a non-stop flight which is totally amazing! setting up a multi-destination plane ticket is very difficult on the inet because by the time you finish some of the legs of it are no longer available...
so it took 4 times and then finally talking with someone on the phone to make it 'take' so the non-stop leg returning me home is
...more again later

I HAVE A GIANT SPIDER ON MY SHOWER CURTAIN !
Posted Feb 27, 2008
...and i need to take a shower to wake up enuf to deal with it...
i don't want to kill her. she is a cane spider or a close relative... very fast...
and i have dealt with cane spiders before... coaxed them along walls to the door and outside (they're too big to jar them... might hurt their ickle legs) ...but this one is NOT on a wall but on a floppy shower curtain !!
she's at least 3 inches maybe 4....
and i watched her last nite, whilst i was on the throne, walk along the walls and across the mirror and she walks creepier than any spider i have ever watched !!
heeeeeeee-e-e-e-lppppppppppah

and so this is christmas
Posted Dec 23, 2007
i just saw John Lennon's Imagine for the first time... i cried all over again at the loss of this gentle sweet dedicated passionate brave and relentlessly hopeful and optimistic man from our midst... just as i mourn Douglas Adams, Sid Barret and Jim Henson.
i wish for you all the sentiments of the lyrics of this song... Happy Christmas (War is Over)... i am so sorry that the clip i am including here is so sad but i feel it is true and so i must place it here. I was looking for a clip with video of John but i ran into this one first.

i love the British... it is not that i knew that until recently... it is just that i have come to realise alot of my music and my reading and entertainment has come from England.... alot of what makes me think, has molded me, and comforts me...
Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Moody Blues, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Jasper FForde, Monty Python, The BBC's Planet Earth and Blue Planet... all of what David Attenbourough has done... i grew up reading the great English classics ...and i am still discovering more all the time.
So i guess you can see why it hurt me so much that the British here did not love me back... but i think probably the above cited, if ever they met me, would love me I have that on the best authority
so this really is it... goodbye all... i can't bear the quietude here any longer.
oh...
