Whoa! That was an Icy blast!!
Please be advised that this individual is aware of her short comings when she has a glass or two of wine. *hic*
Normally she would refrain from entering into a conversation that is obviously above her capabilities to answer, but at that time, she felt that she had a valid question to ask!
Lil old me and myself are not very IT compatable... and I do have a tendency to crash anything with a chip in it!
So we both admire you clever clogs on hootoo and sit back and watch in amazement some of the games and conversations that take place on this site.
Icy North, please carry on! Don't let lil old me interfer... she is just jealous of your abilities!!
Regards,
lil xxx

Icy, I think we may all be in the same position. The simplicity of the game and how to play it are in its favour. I wouldn't want to introduce somethign that would be difficult for anyone else to take over. That's why everything at Telegram Sam's site (which is me with a different name) is in the threads (apart from the rules) so that anyone can add and build on stuff.
Your idea is very good but I think we would need someone like yourself to ensure it continued.

No worries VB,
By all means start a thread - call it Telegram Index or something, and I'll post links to the previous words into it when I get a moment.
If you ever get the urge to explore any of H2G2's more technical features (and some of them are quite rewarding), by all means drop me a line and I'll help you get started. I'm no expert, mind. If I get a spare hour I'll knock up a GuideML page to demonstrate some of them.
Best wishes,
Icy

Hello all, it's nearly Friday, and until now there are only three votes on last week's telegram .
The week before, we had 16 gamers, but only 7 voters - that's not even 50%, and I don't think we should go on like this.I'm really not very keen on voting, because it's always so difficult to make a choice, but we agreed on the rules, and so I vote every week, whether I want it or not.
If we can't motivate people to do their votings, then perhaps we can modify the rules, so that only people who have given their votes will get the points others gave them for their telegram, which would mean - no vote - no points - or we decide to do no votings at all, so no weekly word and no Role of Honour , just post for the fun of it, which would be fine with me
if this sounds brutal , but that's how I feel

I'm not happy with voting either I find it difficult to choose and also i don't have the luxury of 'cut n paste' on a digibox. Iys the main reason why i havent been participating recently
With the 'old' telegram game, Neri used to pick the word and also pick the winner. Personally i preferred that way rather thathan the 'new' way

I know it's not comfortable with the digibox, cause you told me so, but then it's just three sentences once a week, and we could perhaps agree on calling the first posting of a gamer sentence A, and the second sentence B ( if there is a second sentence), so digibox users could just put the name of the gamer and say A or B - do you think that could be an option ?
As I keep the recordings to support MMF, it would be fine with me

I think it depends on MMF, cause he does the counting and stuff, and I think it should be limited to digibox users, but I hope there shouldn't be a problem as long as it encourages people to vote

The problem is, that hardly anybody else is online at the moment, so it could probably take a while and some discussion before we'll know, but if you can't wait to vote on PROCEED , you could post the A/B votes now, and I can post the whole sentences once again under your postings - although that could be even more confusing
Key: Complain about this post
